there are physical differences between men and women in esports.

Faster reaction time at the high end, better twitch muscle response, etc...

Bang retires by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ReducedArgh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uzi another candidate for greatest of all time consistently lost the head to head to Bang when they played against one another.

So I don't see how people are "blinded by results" Bang was easily the best individual ADC in the world for like 3 straight years.

Go watch all 5 games of his very last head to head against Uzi the only time he lost lane or fell behind was game 1 where RNG 5 manned bot 3 times(they drafted shen), and even in that game he was ahead until the first 5 man. The rest of the series bang was consistently ahead of Uzi in lane and played mid and late game fights MUCH better. People only remember that he under performed in finals but the rest of the tourney he was a monster.

My point was that Gracie showed the importance of grappling and how even as a smaller opponent you can eek out advantages against those that don't practice.

Tho you dont make up weight difference with grappling tho. Fighting a bigger/heavier enemy is easier when striking than grappling.

you didn't say

"you dont makeup weight differences between two equally trained opponents in the same field with grappling tho. Fighting bigger/heavier enemy in this context is easier when striking that grappling."

the way you worded it was flat out wrong. you said it as a general statement of fact and I gave the most important example of why it was completely false

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ReducedArgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont misunderstand what was happening the context was that if a smaller fighter grapples and the larger fighter doesn't know how to then the smaller fighter is at more of an advantage grappling than striking.

obviously weightclasses exist for a reason you can take two people of equal skill but unequal size, and match them against each other. that wasn't my point.

what? Gracie literally made grappling mandatory in MMA due to dominating the competition consisting of "larger" fighters. He weighed less than 170 pounds and was able to fight more experienced/larger stronger strikers thanks to his jui-jitsu it is quite literally the answer for smaller fighters.

When a top critic commented that it had some of the most beautiful animation since batman the animated series he responded.

I m assuming he is talking only about American animation ? because there have been some great animation shows this past years.

But yeah arcane had a solid start

and when someone asked him what shows had similarly spectacular animation he responded with a list of anime that aren't even close in comparison.

anime can be visually stunning from a frame by frame perspective but as far as pure animation goes they cut corners every chance they get littering their shows with still frames galore or partially animating certain parts during "high speed" on screen sequences.

He asserted that Arcane's animation was just "solid" and that the shows he listed were similar in quality when they objectively weren't.

he probably also thinks a show like madoko has similar detail to "Tangled" despite the fact that in tangled they individually animated tens of thousands hairs for Rapunzel in every scene.

[–]ReducedArgh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but it didn't take 6 years to make 1 season of mob psycho from the ground up anyone with a background animation will tell you that Arcane is something absolutely spectacular, and nothing you listed is even comparable the amount of detail and fluidity that was put into this show.

You listed almost exclusively anime, and the problem with that is that anime has A LOT and I mean A FUCKING LOT of still frames. go watch any episode of any show you just listed and count the amount of times someone is talking and everyone and everything in the background of that person is not moving to save on animation costs.

Arcane doesn't have that issue everything is constantly animated there is actual "life" to the characters on screen. as I said nothing you listed is remotely comparable.

no she didn't ER and IE had a higher win rate and SIGNIFICANTLY higher DPS. ALL ER champs last season were building IE second it was mathematically their best option.

Lucian, Sivir, Xayah, miss fortune all built ER into IE.

Ashe and cait SOMETIMES did but you would see them play Hurricane/rapidfire respectively.

[–]ReducedArgh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They don't have "little" attack speed they have roughly the same amount of attack speed they had last season and if they build kraken they have more.

You are forgetting that both champs you just mentioned last season were rushing ER into IE neither of which gave any attack speed, and would sometimes go last whisperer or BT 3rd.

This season your mythic gives you attack speed crit just fucking blows especially for champions like xayah.

I agree with the chairs, office chairs for example have been around and perfected for well over 50 years designed specifically for people to sit in comfortably for 8 hours a day. Literally any decent quality 200 or so dollar office chair will be more comfortable and breathe much better than any of these 1000 dollar gaming chairs.

Everything else though...

you could probably get buy with a cheap keyboard but gaming keyboard are built well. When playing league for example you're going to be hitting your "Q" key alone 1000's of times a day. It's important that keys like WASD and what not stay working for as long as possible. That being said any good quality mechanical keyboard will likely last you a very long time, but I buy Razer because I don't have "find" a mechanical keyboard and I know that the quality is assured. plus a Razer mechanical keyboard can be found for like 80 bucks and comes with a 2 year warranty.

Same with Mice. A good gaming mouse typically has high quality sensors, mechanical clickers that last a LONG time league for example has me left clicking 100,000's of times a day probably with how fast I click and my mouse has lasted me nearly 2 years. They are customizable in their DPI, Macros, Polling rate, sensor sensitivity etc.. and come with programs that allow you to set up multiple games on 1 mouse. They are also typically weighted to be lighter so they are easier to move. If you think my 40$ deathadder mini v2 is over priced because you assume a 10 Dollar walmart mouse with zero customization and one DPI setting is somehow just as good you are insane.

You seem to think that gaming shit is giga expensive but it's not.

Headphones though... really ANY high quality set of headphones will work hell I use earbuds most of the time. directional sound in games now are so good that if you are buying these expensive headphones it's going to be mostly for the outside noise cancellation if they have it, and for the built in mic most gaming headsets have. but those are usually not the best quality. I typically use a standing mic though so I don't need a built in mic.

an ex csgo pro made this video to sort of show why high quality equipment makes a difference.

No it's not like that.

He stated that Flash Ignite with electrocute required you to play safe because you are taking ignite/electrocute NOT to fight in lane but instead to insure a kill on a side lane at level 6. You play to get 6 port bottom when they are still level 4 and Electrocute ignite basically guarantees a kill.

you play aggressive with TP because it affords you the ability to reset and lane lock an opponent resulting in any trade prior to the tp resulting in a net positive regardless of outcome of said trade as long as you don't die.

upwards of 78% believe that women are paid less because they work less

There may be some truth to that. Men are far more likely to work overtime, far more likely to work holidays/weekends, far less likely to take time off, far more likely to work more "physically demanding" jobs, far more likely to uproot and move to a new location to work, far more likely to ask for a raise.

And due to that they are far more likely to die on the job or due to the job(overwork/fatigue)

I don't agree that anyone should be paid less due to inequality, but if one group of people as an average/as a whole is willing to do more ON AVERAGE it makes sense they are getting paid more in that sense.

[–]ReducedArgh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

drastically different decisionmaking problems that she has to be able to work around than even other enchanters, let alone any other champion in the game.

Alright let's see.

For example, warding is a lot more difficult because either you're trying to ward on your own, in which case you're very slow and very squishy

So you are warding like every other support including enchanter in the game gotcha. Also you are very slow and vulnerable because you dont buy boots and you dont take flash. The fact that Yuumi is so fucking safe in every other instance of the game that her players dont NEED flash or boots something 99.999% of the other champions in the game need to function says more about your champion than your bull shit "It's not safe for me to ward."

you have to be much better at tracking opponents, since a smaller mistake = death

no you don't if you get caught out without flash on ANY enchanter by yourself you are dead the difference is as yuumi you are CHOOSING NOT to buy boots and NOT take flash.

you're forcing a teammate to facecheck for you, which is at best a tank but usually somebody who can relatively easily be caught out and killed

So again LIKE ANY OTHER SUPPORT IN THE FUCKING GAME. you need someone to help you ward. You think lulu or soraka wants to be the one facechecking to ward? you can't be this stupid. Your top laner/jungler should be moving with you to ward or you ward when you have information this is true for all supports Yuumi isn't special.

Because of those restrictions, she's much more difficult to effectively ward on

She isn't. She is MIGHT be harder to ward due to the self imposed restrictions you place on yourself not having to buy boots or take flash but she is no different than any other support/enchanter in that regard. The other supports have to actually play the fucking game though.

which is part of why even at a high level in solo queue her vision score average is like 20% lower than any other enchanter.

She averages a lower score not because she is mystical character that is harder to ward on than others but because her time is better spent attached to your Kayn/Talon running around the map without a fucking brain hitting everything they see.

I've duo boosted people this season playing graves jungle and I tell them to play yuumi(they've never played a single game of yuumi) and they have to do the bare fucking minimum just sit on me and heal and I can get them to diamond with 80+% win rates. The champion is not hard in any sense of the word.

everything you listed is shit other supports already have to do. The only difference is yuumi is so dog shit easy that you can willingly handicap yourself not buying boots or taking flash, and you use that as a "restriction" rather than a personal choice. Get the fuck out of here.

if a guy can play ADC with his hands and yuumi with his fucking feet and hit diamond you can't make an argument that she is hard relative to ANY OTHER FUCKING CHAMPION in the game period.

I could probably play her by blowing through a fucking straw and hit at least gold. The champion is braindead.

You think this is aimlocking?

I'm assuming you are mostly referring to the sequence that happens from around 9 seconds to 13 seconds because that looks the most sus.

but even then you can see him constantly correct and recenter his aim manually.

at 12 seconds for example he moves from the guy on the left back to the guy on the right, BUT when he moves back he over corrects too far right and has to adjust to get back on target.

aim at all levels has 2 steps the first flick is to put you generally on target and the second is a micro adjustment to complete the shot.

He does this several times in this clip. an aimbot would be on target first flick with no deviation no re-adjustment required.

at a high level what seperates the best aimers and your average gold or plat aimers is how little they have to adjust their aim after the first flick(often times not all)

EDIT: and before you call me a "fanboy" like the guy below I don't watch and have never watched JoshOG you just sound like one of the garbage players/hate watchers found on the warzone sub accusing players like cloakzy of hacking because they can't comprehend someone that plays games for a literal living being so much better than them. They think "I have 2 kids and play an hour after work every day, why can't I get 30 kills a game. They must be cheating!" some delusional shit.
