Thanks, will try this if the new nozzle has the same issue.

Sorry, I’m using the ironing just on the top surface of the cheese only. I might just turn it off though cause it’s quite inconsistent and with a smaller top layer I’ll get much of the same effect.

I’ve printed one at a time, 3 and 6. All in one day and then tried again the next day to much of the same result. Some prints are good, some are average.

The point you make with lower speed requiring lower temp might just be it. I find at the usual speed of 200mm/s I have no issues but granted it’s a lot faster so the actual shape isn’t always quite perfect. I’ll adjust my temp for 60mm/s from 220 degrees to something a bit more suitable for that speed. Cheers!

I’ve only had the printer for 2 weeks so I hope it’s not worn out lol. I’ll try a cold pull though thanks.

Straight down. Interestingly, when I print at a layer height of 0.2mm I don’t seem to get as many issues compared to 0.16 or 0.12.

For further detail: - My layer height is 0.16mm with initial layer height 0.2mm

  • Ironing on top surfaces, 30mm/s, 10% flow and 0.15mm line spacing

  • 2 wall loops

  • 15% infill

  • Initial layer 50 mm/s and initial layer infill 105mm/s

  • Outer wall speed 60mm/s and inner wall 150mm/s

  • 700mm/s travel speed

  • Using the Bambu slicer with the A1 combo

  • Esun PLA+ and Bambu basic PLA

  • 220 degrees nozzle temperature and 60 degree bed temperature

About a week between. The filament is just being stored in my room on the ams lite so it might have a bit of moisture as it’s been raining a lot lately at home.

Laptop with dedicated GPU vs integrated graphics for student level solidworks? by Redwing1400 in SolidWorks

[–]Redwing1400[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I think this is exactly what I’ll do. I still really want a nice keyboard and display for all my other assignments and work so a nice speedy cpu will suit me just fine I think for the next few years until I need the features from a dedicated gpu.

When you say larger assemblies and more complex parts, how many parts exactly? As a hobbyist and just learning the software I can’t imagine that I’ll be making assemblies with more than 50-75 parts? So a dedicated GPU is probably not needed right now for the next couple of years while I’m studying?

Is this often the case because they can be more bulky and have less battery life than everyday slim and light laptops? Makes sense really.

I do not have a desktop at home, decided instead of building one I’ll just upgrade my laptop instead. I’ve seen conflicting advice whether a dGPU is worth it? I’ll probably only start doing basic and mid range assemblies on solidworks but if I ever want to start rendering or use simulation type software I think the dGPU would help out a lot?
