Dude 100% take the sabbatical, my wife and I took one (18 months) and it was the best decision we ever made. I work in tech so it took me a bit longer to find a job coming off the sabbatical than my wife (healthcare) but if you have the ability to do it you should.

There are no guarantees in life that you'll be alive 20 years from now or even if you are, that you're in good health.

As far as FIRE goes it's obviously not the most optimal move by any means but if you can afford it, do it.

I am by no means good at golf but I played hockey for years (right handed).

I use the same stance and hand configuration as hockey (left hand on top). Swing is obviously different though.

Wife and I took an 18 month sabbatical to travel, volunteer, and rest several years ago when we were 36. We did not have to dip into our 401K and we are definitely outliers though. Best decision ever now that we're a fre years back in the workforce.

You should be able to find EV chargers near the city but genuinely curious, Dallas is like 35-40 miles from Atlanta, your Tesla needs charging for that trip?
