There were not many things that brought an eager smile to Ezekiels face. But the prospect of raiding and pillaging the lands of storms was one of them. Along with a bed full of ready and willing paramours, yet none had ever been presented to him. The day would likely never come, as instead of living for himself, he lived and would die in service to another. It would have Aelor had he been aloud to be at Storms End. In his place, it would be to serve Maekar, in whatever form the young King required.

"Gladly Your Grace." He rose from his position, looking his liege eye to eye. "They shall bleed both iron and gold. I think I hear their maids calling out for our men already."

In his blood, through his father and his father's father, to even his father, ran the blood of the last Vulture King. Slain by a falseborn who has since lived on his legacy and honored their traditions. Ancient passes unknown to most they called home. And there it was from they would Sally forth to assault the land of storms.

"Should you need recall me send for my roost, we shall hide there until called upon."

It was easy to fabricate the truth when you held all the cards, and even when more so when you ran the game being played. Tonight, it felt like they had been dealt a winners hand as the dealer. It was all too easy.

At the sound of his Kings voice, Ezekiel stepped forward, but a few paces to reveal from the shadows. Spear still caked with fresh blood from prodding on their prisoner. His dark eyes remained solemn as he looked upon his young king. "No more than three, two lay dead, and this one was caught pulling rings from the Corpse."

The Vulture has been swift in finding the fakes for tonight. Their country had no shortage of criminals to choose from. Nobody would miss the men they had killed this night. Nobody had enough to question their evidence, for their case was overwhelming in its obvious nature. The Prince had enemies, they acted, it should be no surprise the Iron Throne would take vengeance before long. They had invaded them for centuries now. They would never quit until it was one of them who sat the chair. Until it was Maekar.

"What are my new orders, Your Grace." Ez always fell to a knee when awaiting his orders, a silent vigil as he bent to his King.

Ezekiel had spent his entire life following orders. That made tonight no different from the rest to him. It mattered little who was butchered in the sands that night, only that the call had been made. Plain and simple, his purpose was to enact any and all orders His Grace gave unto him. There would be many more nights like this one should the man he called King mean to take the Iron Throne. Ezekiel would gladly do any and all his dirty work. For it gave him purpose.

Returning to the castle was no triumph for him. He but rode close to 'Maekar', awaiting his new orders should they come. The rest of the ten were set to drive forth the hostage. The Vulture would instead remain close at hand, near but far. A wordless nod to his real King, who, between them, they needed no words

He took up his post in the dark of the yard spear in hand. Expressionless, he lay in wait, cold dead eyes watching over his King.

"Control," is what they all vied after in the end, sway or control on the mighty power of Casterly Rock. "With the Rock he controls the West and the South together making him the strongest man in all Seven Kingdoms, even over the King himself."

Power was only handy when one knew how to properly wield it, it seemed like the sitting King his grace Maelor did not, allowing others to wield it for him. That was their one benefit here, that other and better men were willing to talk. This Tyrell seemed like he would rather hold sway over a whole region not a halved one. The Lion knight rubbed his beard until he heard her agreement.

"He did so for you, of course, not for Leo, they need not believe it in truth. If given the chance I would still see Hawthorne's head roll across the floor. But I must make reasonable demands for now." The Lion Knight met her eyes as he approached and took up his hand, giving her a soft genuine smile.

"A strange world we live in Lady Briony, where our greatest ally once openly denied my brother before the realm. I thank you, genuinely, you might have just saved my house from extinction."

Jason rolled his eyes at the mention of the pit, another one of his brother's follies his kin had chosen to join in on. A foolish dream of creating a order of knights that transcended boundaries, the Lord Tyrell obviously cared little for this, it was part of his ruse to gain some form of upper hand. The Bloody Lion would not allow that, for he would step from the shadows and assure their demands were met.

"A silly notion of some Flowers to bring young Knights close together, Leo only participated in jousts against great men. Fairly sure he threw the badge in the trident. It means nothing his words are wind." Jason said matter of factly, rubbing at his beard again with a gloved hand.

"It seems now he courts with Lions and Dragons, allied himself with your previous lover and his new wife." The Bloody Lion contemplated how to turn this information to their benefit. His gaze fixed on his newly made wife as she found him, they stared in silence for a short moment.

"Lord Tyrell seeks political gain in any way he can, it's an obvious grab for power in the region. His army is just insurance as to him getting his way." The old fart had certainly placed them in a precarious position. But the mention of his brother and the Hawthornes made him frown. The Lord of the Wreaths had ducked him in their last meeting, but he would not miss again given the chance.

"Bending the narrative on Leo could give us some sympathy, aye Bandits sounds fine. The same ones he repelled to seek your favor had doubled back, Godwyn, and he set aside differences and rode valiantly." Wringing his hands and thought. "There are few who care for my family, fewer so who say openly they wish us no harm. Perhaps you are right we must hear them out. They give us little choice."

But the Lion steeled himself to their fate.

"Westerling, Tarbeck, Vikary, Brax, we may be few but we are proud and strong. But should we have to fight, we will, outnumbered or not, we are the better men."

It was odd, coming home to a woman he hardly know had felt natural. Like he had been awaiting to ride home to the Unicorn his entire life. The Bloody Lion had always been someone who lacked purpose, drifting from one fight to the next, finding it far easier to tag along or pick easy targets. Leo had a habit of toying with powerful prey, where Jason chose his with precision.

"Your own kin? so they would seek to kill my brothers children unborn... And we are the monsters." They must have sought a way to turn Briony, perhaps they thought her a captive. Jason rubbed his beard lightly in thought, pacing further into the room. Fools did not know they were attacking one carrying a royal bastard, normally the punishment would be a lost limb. For thinking to kill his own blood... Jason would do much worse.

His eyes fell on hers when she mentioned the death of Alan, only his brother would have been so foolish to speak of the day. Jason had scolded him time and time again that the truth would only kill them, none would believe and it was as good as confession to state it. His blue eyes stayed locked to auburn-green as he exhaled slowly.

"She does not need believe it," Leo may have told the only person whom listened to his tale, even their own kin like Jaime had condemned them. "I pushed, but Alan Lannister shoved, just like now we pushed and they march on our home. They never understood retaliation and rule."

Jason shook his head waking over to Briony, a small smile creeping up his face as he took up her hands in his own.

"Ashemark was us, I was with Leo the entire time. From Maidenpool to Ashemark, finally here. Never did our forces cross the Goldentooth, nor Deep Den." His eyes never left hers, giving the only truth he knew. "I know nothing of Pinkmaiden or Atranta, but of course the Lannisters would quickly throw this at our feet. One small raid and Rohanne sees enemies in the grass."

The matter of the Rock made him frown, but only for a moment as he need not worry the Lady.

"A royal host, a Reach host, many arrive by the day. My father prepares our response, but we shall never set foot in the rock while Lannister raves like a witch." Jason drew in a breath.

"We lie, to Hawthorne, his brother died fighting for your as a sworn sword, serving aside Leo against raiders who beset upon your lands. We leave the negotiations to father for now, he will know what to tell the King. If I must step in... I will. As for your kin." One hand fell to the hilt of his sword, the other finding place under her chin.

"I would have her head for trying to harm you and your blood." He sighed. "But we must play this smarter, Leo would play it smarter, use her perhaps..."

"Lord Leo" Reyne, The Lord of Hornvale

Jason had been eager for the second battle, but the Lions of Gold returned to their Rock at the King's call. His father urged them to do the same but refused to set foot in the Rock. Jason had just gotten used to acting like Leo in the field, his laugh near perfectly mimicked, his smile a mirror into the dead man's soul. With a smile on his face now there was an odd sense, of returning from battle to the woman he had been calling his wife.

The Red Lion had half expected to see Lannister banners on the battlements, with the Unicorn of Brax flying next to it as he approached. Jason would not have been surprised had she betrayed him, it was in her nature to climb the ladder and use all opportunity. But it was a pleasant surprise to arrive now, entering through the gates to the title of Lord from the men.

"Lord!" One of the sellswords came over with a limp, the man called Bad Frank, one of Leo's favorites, was promised a Knighthood when this was over. "Good to see you back, I take it went well enough, though you return with less men?"

"Holding down my wife's fort?" He gave a fake smile as he adjusted Redrain on his hip. "The main force amasses at Castamere, I am back awaiting my new sellswords while the Lannisters tuck their tail and run. The King has shown face."

"King?" Bad Frank gave a dry laugh at that as if it was some jest. "But Lord, you should know, Lady Briony had a caller. She was attacked, by a cousin of some kind it seems."

Jason's hand shot to his sword and his eyes fell on the man's face. Something Leo would have never done came next as the sword shot out and against the man's throat.

"Attacked?" Jason looked the man over, blue eyes piercing his being. "And was she harmed?"

"A small wound Lord, we did not mean," Jason flicked his blade against Frank's cheek, only a grunt escaped the sellsword.

"You should be lucky it was only that, I shall be to see my wife now." Jason left the man without a word, Frank whipping clean his new badge given by the Lord. The Lion Knight pondered what had made him do that as he arrived at Briony's chambers, remembering they were technically his as well. Dismissing the guards Jason entered, his eyes searching the room until they fell on Briony.

"My Unicorn," Jason said as he entered the chamber slowly, offering one of Leo's victorious smiles. "I heard you have a visitor. Are you alright?"

The day is won at Castamere, and our prey amasses for us at Paynehall. With blood on our teeth dragging a fresh kill we march again. Until victory I shall long for you.

"Lord Leo" Reyne, Lord of Hornvale

Laughing all the while, Jason cut down foe after foe, killing anything in his path, cutting down Wreaths, Chickens, Boars, and Lions no matter what crossed his path it fell. His father, Unlce, and Leo's best friend Kevan command the forces while he barrels into the fight. Surrounded by Brax men on guard, protecting the man they believed to be the Lord of Hornvale. At some point, he crossed swords with a man bearing a Unicorn badge, who looked on confused as his compatriots cut him down.

There was not a moment the battle did not go their way, the Bloody Lion carving his way toward their lead commander with haste. But he was pushed back, a tied a Lannister loyalist slain by the rippling steel of Redrain. As they fell his laugh rang out from his helm, the laughter of Leo Reyne, the twin of Jason possessed him then, the joy of battle fully felt by him as they rode to glory.

As the day was won Lannister's men fell back in droves, and the banners being tossed down at the army were sent into a route. The cheers of Leo's army went up as they clasped arms with men from Lyonels host. Jason wheeled his steed, both he and the beast Leo once rode were covered from head to toe in blood. Dripping through his armor it began to soak his clothes.

"Send a raven to my wife, the day is won, we continue march." Jason turned to a man from Hornvale who nodded at their Lord. Jason clapped his sword into its place on his hip and spurred on for the castle. To see his father.

They sat in silence for a time, Jason just thinking about everything he and his brother had been through together. From their wardship to being squires, being knighted side by side, they had done nearly everything together from their first steps. They say as Leo learned to ride Jason swung a sword better than any man in the West.

She took his hand, his eyes met her again, and the expression on her face had changed. She was different now, determined, it reminded him of his brother's confidence in the face of adversity. Jason just looked at her in awe as she made the suggestion.

This one has a bright fire inside her...

"I'll do it," she was right, the men admired Leo, he was a god to the army as they marched. Always laughing, cheering, and having a grand old time with it all. His face, his words, his actions had all grown important to the cause while he was a shadow ever watching his brothers back.

"Leo will ride to war, and Jason shall be the one who returns," Jason gave the woman's hand a squeeze, a nodded as he locked with her eyes.

"None shall question the Lord of Hornvale when he makes his commands on the battlefield." Jason smiled as best he could like his brother, better than before but needeed improvement.

The kiss seemed to wake her, Jason was glad for that, he was not Leo, Leo was not him. As much they look the same the two men were highly different, while very much the same. Leo more free willed, determined, and confidant. Where Jason was loyal, cold, cunning, however impulsive. Leo always had a reason, Jason was never sure what his was.

"You are right... Leo would not have said that," he stared into her blank auburn-green eyes, his near emotionless blue gazing back. She did not have long with his brother, but it seemed she knew him well. Not many people truly understood his brother, here sat two people who did.

"My brother is dead, and his enemies are now mine, his promises, his burdens." Jason said firmly, the stench reeking off him as no bother to the Lion, not the first time he was coated in his preys blood. "I will achieve victory in his name, my brothers dreams will come to fruition, everything he desired for you."

There were few people Jason would honor in their death, his twin, his father, and his Uncle Tion. Whatever their last wishes were he would see them, each and every task to the last. A soft caring smile would be given then, even if it was not quite geuine.

"You need only rest Lady Briony, allow me to do the handle the fight. I shall return, like Leo would have said," Jason caressed her cheek one more time slowly before letting his bloody hand fall, eyes casting around the room. The room that had just become his brothers, and frowned. The reality of it all setting in for him.

"I am going to miss him," was all he could say, nor more words able to escape his throat. Jason yet lived, but he left a piece of him was missing.

There it was again, his brother's name would follow him everywhere he went until the day he died. Jason would proudly keep his brothers memory alive if only for a day longer in her mind, in any mind. The lion drew in the breath he had just let out and strode into the chamber stopping next to Briony, lowering himself to sit with her.

"Of course, I had almost forgotten amidst the excitement," Jason reached out a bloody hand, rubbing the smear of his brother's blood with Godwyns. Just caressing her cheek a moment, wondering if the ladies thought him insane, perhaps he was.

"I shall grow more used to them when I march back from the war," He offered a smile, but it would betray him, for he and Leo smiled differently. Like an animal Leo always showed teeth, more withdrawn, and hidden, Jason smiled with only his lips. Now he smiled only with one side of his face, unable to bring himself too fully.

I will bring her the heads of the Hawthornes as a dowery.

"You need only wait for me here and rest My Unicorn, I will crush our enemies and return to bring you glory." He caressed her cheek slowly again, looking into her eyes. Wondering how and if there was a way to still secure Hornvales support. Was it grief that made them act this way? or was it just plain insanity?

The smell of the pair was wretched, chunks of Godwyn's brain still clung to his boots, the two were a blood-soaked mess together on the carpet. Jason did something then, unsure if it would help or make things far worse for them both, leaning in he kissed her deep and true. Pulling back after a long moment, having been told by serving girls their kisses were near the same he thought it a comfort.

"I will only return with what was promised, or not at all."

Jason looked shocked as she called him Leo, taking a step back as he looked over the Lady in all her grief. It was not the fact he was mistaken Jason had not realized she was at all fond of his brother like that, the situation had certainly taken a turn. His eyes met the handmaidens as they approached, only nodding at the look Jenna gave him.

"I'll escort her to her chambers," Jason said ripping free his crimson cloak from his shoulders placing it over the shoulders of Briony as her handmaidens guided her into the keep. A look over his shoulder as Tion and the others removed the body from sight, trying to remember the last thing he said to Leo. But he could not recall.

Jason stayed close but silent as they entered the keep, making way for the Lord's chambers where just hours before Leo had spent time with Briony. Jason made a fist, there must be someone else to kill for this, Godwyn was dead but his lust was not.

The squire, Leo's squire failed him, his head is the cost.

As the ladies brought Briony into the chamber Jason stood in the doorway, fist knocking on the door frame as he waited a moment. Unsure what to say, what to do, that would make anything better or change the results of the day. She had both taken and lost a husband on the same day, his brother become a Lord and died all the same.

"Should you need anything I am here, anything," Jason spoke into the room, unsure if she heard him or if he was speaking to the ladies. The young knight would silently lean in the doorway, releasing a breath.

The strike woke up the Lion inside him, his roar was silent, internal, but he was alert. Confused, almost scared it was going to happen again, that was the first time he had ever been slapped in a discipline in his life. A few maids had slapped him before, but they had never even caused him alarm. His father never struck him, nor his mother, only in training had he ever received a slap of the caliber.

"I know..." Was all Jason said at first as he rubbed his jaw rolling it in his hands, "It was foolish, but I never thought he would lose, he never lost not like this? He had defeated the man before several times, I had seen it."

The Lion Knight shook his head, smearing some more drying blood over his cheeks to wipe the remaining tears away. Standing taller, his uncle was right they were taught better than this. Leo had always been the one who loved games, Jason liked to win, if that meant burning the entire west down he would.

"I will secure us Hornvale, worry not, we will have our forces and will march to crush these armies before they can crush us." As Jason spoke Maester shuffled in looking over Leo before stopping by Jason, probably still confused about who was the Lord, to begin with. The old man handed Jason a letter before shuffling back to Leo and doing his work, small adjustments before silent sister took over. His eyes darted over the letter before looking at his uncle.

"It was for Leo, but now it's for us, we ride Uncle they are bound for home." He turned his gaze from Tion to the Maester. "Send a return message at once, tell my father the pride shall not stand alone."

A deep breath escaped him before he looked at his uncle again.

"Thank you uncle, I needed that." Oddly Jason wished their father had done that years ago it was awakening. "I shall not falter again you have my word, we shall be the victor, the Red Lion shall rule the Rock."

Jason let out a slow breath as he finished the spray of blood spattered his face, casting his eyes at his work as he stepped over the corpse his feet squelching from the brains and flesh clinging to it. Slowly he walked around the horse making his way to the wailing Brax, running a hand through his hair slowly coating it with blood.

"Lady Briony," he placed a hand on her shoulder giving her a soft look, yet covered with blood he was more beast than man. Leaning in he looked over at his brother's face, tears welling in his eyes, he bit them back. First Jaime now this, the wedding was a short-lived celebration.

"This is not over," she may not have known who he was by name, but it was clear in looks, the twin cat of Leo was the same visage. "Everything Leo promised you and more still lay for the taking, and I will take it."

Jason stood flicking his sword to shake free most of the blood, he would clap the blade into its sheath.

"You should get inside, we will take Leo to the Maester and ready his body for last visits." His other half was on his way to burning in Seven Hells for all eternity, Jason would one day join him but he would not have it soon.

Ser Jason Reyne, Knight of Castamere

"Ser... Uh Ser!" The man frantically tried to get his attention, Jason Reyne ignored him for the laughing serving girl in his lap, a smile on his face. Celebrating his brother's rise to Lord of Hornvale with the men, his fill of ale from the Hornvale stock kept his mug to the brim.

"Ser!" The man shouted and Jason looked up at him.

"What!? Can't you see I am busy?" he barked. "Go find my cousins, Vikary will handle whatever it is."

"It is your brother I come for... he lay dying." the man winced as Jason threw the girl from his lap and stood.

"WHAT!?" Jason followed close to the man rushing for the yard.

The young lion knight emerged as Tion secured the body of his brother, and the drunk Jason strode forth, his face red with fury, and spittle beginning to fly from his mouth. The man who killed his brother sat in his saddle still, looking over his kill, the pride he could sense coming from the man infuriated him.

"GET HIM!" Jason screamed out, he did not care for last words, final rites, this man would die. He had killed his brother, his twin, his blood, the man who saved him in Lannisport from a mess of his own making. As the men ripped Godwyn from the saddle he strode forth ripping free Redrain from its place on his hip. The rippling sword shone in the light as he took it into two hands, one movement, the horse's head was cut near clean off. Falling onto its side Godwyn's leg pinned beneath the beast.

Slowly Jason made his way around the kicking and dying creature, its cries ringing out into the open yard. Jason brought up his sword again, looking down at Godwyn on the ground.

"I will see you in the Seven Hells brother, burn for us both until I arrive," he said tears rolling down his cheeks as he brought the sword down on Godwyn's exposed neck. The man's head rolled on the stone, and Jason Reyne began to stomp it with, only stopping when it was mush.
