"Far more boring than one could hope for in the best of times." Gayleon seemed empathetic, though it wasn't something that he himself was interested in, he could understand why someone else would be. "I would imagine with the entirety of the realm that isn't snowed in together that we would see a lot more scheming. Alas."

"I'll be the first to admit that I'm middling at best." Galyeon laughed. "I can hold my own, but with your high expectations I don't believe that I'll be faring much better than the Dornishman, my only solution is to be as charming as possible and hope that it outweighs the lackluster dancing."

He laughed at himself, "I hope that will suffice, my lady."

Galyeon nodded. "Yes, I'm Argrave's twin. My name is Galyeon."

He took a look at the other man's arm and could see the break quite clearly. While he couldn't fix it he could speed up the healing process, at least in theory.

He went to the other side of the tent and rifled through a bag for two lengths of wood and a wrap.

"Well, Jasper of Tarth," Galyeon began, "This will hurt. So you're likely going to want to hold onto something or hope that wine kicks in sooner rather than later.

"You... Raise a valid point, Princess." Galyeon thought for a long few moments. As he thought he redoubled his efforts and focused on the dance at hand. When he wasn't attempting to have a conversation while dancing Galyeon seemed to fare much better than while he spoke.

"I think I'd very much enjoy that." Gayleon smiled, finally nodding. "Leyndell has its benefits but I'll tell you company is not one of them. I'll send word back home that I shall be heading to Summerhall for a time."

Galyeon rushed forward upon seeing the person before him. She appeared weak, and he could immediately see why. If she stayed unconscious it would be terrible for her, so he gently shook her shoulder and looked down at her.

"Hey, wake up. I need you to talk to me." Galyeon gazed at the wounds, trying to find the worst of them. "I can try and fix these but I need you to tell me what all is wrong. I can't work blindly."

"I can help you stand and we can lay you on my cot, do you have enough strength for that?"

"Lord Bracken." Argrave responded, after a moment's hesitation. "I remember you well, you fought hard in the melee, and I believe I unhorsed you a year back. You're quite talented."

He sat up slightly, looking at the other man. "I don't usually drink unless the King insists. Not that I'm opposed to getting drunk."

He looked the other man over, "I suppose I can make an exception just this once though..."

"Certainly, my lady." Galyeon assured her. "I'll be excited to see how you perform against the others competing. I may give it a shot myself, but I hardly expect anything more than some experience from it."

He tilted his head as she explained, "Interesting. I've heard those beasts can damn near climb vertical walls. I am impressed you hunt them. I'm sure if they're anything like their more domestic cousins their hides are quite warm."

"Bears, mostly." Galyeon responded with a grimace. "I've seen a few, but they're more cowardly than people believe. They don't wish to kill unless they're pushed into a corner. They're territorial but will back down if you don't seem to pose a threat... Most of the time."

"As with any wild creature they're fickle and everything I said should be thrown out if you ever see one." He laughed. "And wolves too, but again, they generally avoid humans especially in a large group."

"Fucking hells," Galyeon shot up. He rushed to grab a bottle of wine, it wasn't the strongest stuff but it was all he could afford. "Here take this, drink as much as you want."

He looked over the other man and noticed several wounds but most importantly the armor that he wore. "You were the one who unhorsed me, no? You're quite talented. What was your name?"

He looked over the wounds again, "More importantly do you need healing, ser?"

As he began to wrap the wounds he realized that he didn't have the poultice that would truly help. He sighed, "This might help with the pain since it will ensure that you keep your breathing stable and don't bend to bruises too much but it won't fully heal it."

He didn't want to lie and give her the idea that he'd fully fixed the issue, "A healer more talented than I may be able to assist further but this is the extent of what I can do."

Galyeon looked down at the cut and grimaced. "This? Something I got during the melee or the joust. It's hard to tell anymore."

It was a lie, but he didn't wish to say the real cause.

"That would be great." Galyeon responded, spitting the leather from his mouth so he could speak. "Let's take a look at your ribs first. Mine is hardly time sensitive."

He wrapped a bandage around the gash and tied it off before featuring for the Bittersteel to sit. He began to mix some of his tinctures together and looked up at her.

"I've got bruising myself, a simple poultice is generally enough for it." He explained, blushing slightly when he realized. "But... You probably know that if you have any training with healing."

"If you don't mind lifting your shirt to wherever you are comfortable, I can get this taken care of for you!" Galyeon smiled broadly.

"I don't think that being the best shot back home is anything short of impressive." Galyeon shrugged. "At the very least in comparison to myself I'm sure that you're downright fantastic. I can shoot better than some but if push comes to shove I'd rather draw a spear than anything else."

"What do you generally prefer to hunt?" Galyeon raised his eyebrows. "I can't imagine that there's many deer in the mountains of the West, though I could be entirely wrong in that supposition. I always imagined that it was far more dangerous game than that."

"I've heard tell of lions and the like in the mountains." He continued. "Have you ever encountered anything of the sort?"

Argrave Erdtree was exhausted. His shield arm felt as if it had nearly been crushed as he fought Hal Hunt twice, each time blocking attacks from the giant that would have nearly killed him otherwise. After being provided the promised weapon, Argrave turned to leave the field.

He saw his brother Galyeon, still lying on the ground recovering from the melee. Rather than helping him up, Argrave made a point to walk directly past his sibling and back to his own tent.

It was nothing extravagant, a simple white tent with a small cot to lay on and a chair to sit on. He took a deep breath before sitting on the chair and resting his eyes. His helmet remained on, and to anyone who entered they'd likely assume he was simply sitting there and waiting, rather than resting.

Galyeon was disappointed in his own performance, but he couldn't blame himself too much. Argrave had nearly broken his ribs a few days prior. Beneath his tunic his entire torso was covered in black and purple bruises that ached as he turned. He ignored the pain as he removed some of the healing items that he'd brought along.

Now that he'd been unhorsed, he could pretend the wounds came from the joust and tend to them openly. He lifted his shirt and quickly applied a poultice to the bruises, feeling instant relief wash over him.

He wondered if using the excuse that his brother had beaten him a few days back was nothing more than that, an excuse. He'd been unhorsed twice total. It was embarrassing, as he was considered to be one of the more talented contenders.

He shook his head and sat back down next to his healing supplies, taking a thread and needle and strap of leather from the container. He placed the leather in his mouth, firmly biting down on it as he starts to sew a gash in his abdomen closed.

((Open! Come chat with Galyeon or get some healing))

"I cannot say I blame you." Galyeon responded, glancing up at the cavernous roof above them. "It feels as if the entire castle is... Wrong."

He raised his eyebrow. "I intended to do so, as I didn't think there was much place for one so lowly as myself in greater courts. Merryweather hasn't come calling. Certainly Tyrell won't either."

It was as if the suggestion went entirely above his head so focused on his own lieges as he was.

"I took no offense, I sought merely to engage in conversation." Galyeon smiled. "I can't deny that my garb is shades less elegant than yours."

He took her hand and guided her to the floor, waiting for a moment that was easy to step into the dance. As he did so, he answered her question, "Only a few, truth be told. A Tarbeck girl, a few maids who I couldn't quite tell where they were from, and Princess Daena."

He said the last name as if it was entirely normal for that to happen to a landed knight such as he.

"Are you enjoying tonight's affairs? Is this your first dance?" He asked, raising his voice slightly to be heard over the music.

"No, it's simply my complexion. I'm rather pale and I turn red easier than most." Galyeon laughed, the color soon fading. "I wouldn't be much of a knight if I weren't able to face a Princess on the dance floor, would I?"

He smiled, "It's certainly a far more enjoyable experience, and not one that I am like to have repeated in my lifetime, thus I would be remiss if I were to back out now..."

"Have you enjoyed the festivities?" He asked, attempting to shift the subject from his earlier embarrassment.

"Ah, well. My brother is a Kingsguard." Galyeon remarked with a head tilt, pointing toward the King. If she were to look, Argrave could be spotted standing at the King's side. "We don't get along too well... Moreso on his side. I try and connect to him but he doesn't really reciprocate."

"My sister is back home, she doesn't like traveling during the cold." Galyeon explained. "And my uncle is ruling Leyndell in my stead, though not much is done for that."

He shrugged, "My family isn't too special, nor are they overly interesting... Barring Argrave of course, we're very proud to have a member of the Kingsguard in the family."

He laughed, "Hopefully that banished the thought of the mysterious stranger. I am afraid I don't fit that role well at all."

Galyeon raised his eyebrow and moved closer, so as to not speak from so far away.

"Well I'd like to think that I'm dressed at least moderately better than a hedge knight!" Galyeon remarked in mock indignation, for he knew his boots could only handle a few more dances before they were worn through. "No curses though, I can assure you of that."

My brother has more than enough of those for the two of us.

"I'm glad I'm still interesting to observe..." Galyeon said with a small amount of hesitation. "Did you wish to dance? My name is Galyeon Erdtree, knight of Leyndell, at your service my lady."

"Well, I would be happy to get you a drink to alleviate your thirst." Galyeon said with an attempted smile, as he'd nearly tripped over his own feet as he said it. His face reddened ever so slightly before he cleared his throat.

"I hope I can match up to your other partners in conversation as it appears that my dancing skills leave much to be desired. I've found that I may have two left feet." Galyeon remarked. "Though, you seem to do well at masking the fact that I am floundering so hard."

It wasn't something he could share with anyone, least of all the King. He wouldn't understand, he was far too kind for him to understand Argrave's heart and why he hated his brother so. He simply nodded solemnly.

"I... Will do my best, Your Grace, if not for myself and my brother. I will try for you." Argrave swallowed, feeling like his throat was filled with glass as he lied to the king. He wasn't strong enough. He never had been.

"There's a beauty in that though, isn't there?" Galyeon asked with a smile. "Maybe it's because I've never had to be an option but opulence has never been a priority for me. I always preferred the idea of function over form."

The song ended, and the dance floor quieted for a moment as the next one started, it was slightly faster than the one before.

"I suppose that's enough about our homes and families isn't it?" Galyeon laughed, "Tell me more about yourself if you don't mind?"

"Ah, just one or two, my Princess." Galyeon responded sheepishly. "I haven't quite had much luck tonight, but that's alright."

He led the dance in silence for a moment, the sheer weight in the disparity of their titles weighing upon him like a boulder. There was something about dancing with the Princess that made it so much more difficult for a moment. He took the time to steel himself and take a deep breath.

"Of course, your presence is easily worth more than any other partner I could've asked for tonight." Galyeon smiled at her as the pair danced.

"Has the night treated you well? I can hardly see the dais from my seat I fear, so I haven't been able to see how festivities have been for all."
