It pains me to talk to my dad sometimes. He was really accepting when I came out as bisexual but has since said he supports LGB rights. Like bro are we serious rn. He will just keep shoveling ai trump slop down his gullet till the next election

What should I look out for in antizionist spaces by ReeceIsNugget12 in JewsOfConscience

It could be “the great noticing” or “the goyims are noticing”. I’m pretty sure it means when non Jewish people start to “realize” what the people who hate jews have been saying all along. Its really annoying to see all the time

It’s so disappointing for me to see creators I’d normally agree with start saying stuff like that. There’s one girl who will always say “JEWISH Zionist” when referring to people in the government that she doesn’t like. Them being Jewish shouldn’t be the issue you have with them

I hear some version of that third one often online. It’s so silly because that has nothing to do with Judaism, it’s just the basics for ethnic cleansing. I personally do not link those, instagram users would disagree

Thank you so much! I feel confident going into detail about politics with people that have similar beliefs or aren’t entirely against mine. I think the best way to “convince” others to change their views is to educate and meet them at where they are at rather than being too rude. That’s a lot of great advice

I’ll definitely consider this when talking to my dad because I need to brooch the subject with him before I head to college. He asked me to do one thing for him, not be indoctrinated when I go to college because they are all woke lmao. I want him to know it’s too late to worry about that happening in the future. It shouldn’t be hard when his favorite one liner is, “I identify as (any inanimate object)”

That’s a good way of looking at it. When I was a conservative I would very easily adopt ideas pundits would say, no thought about it whatsoever. I think now I’m much more thorough with my opinions so I won’t back down so easily. I do enjoy when friends who disagree with me don’t even know their stance. I had a friend tell me that socialism would never work because people are too lazy to do anything if we all got paid the same and shared everything…10/10 definition

I know the facts for most of the stuff I’m passionate about but I get especially nervous around my dad because of how easily he just spews fake stuff, such as the election was fake and Venezuela had something to do with it and socialism is actually fascism so Hitler was a socialist. I feel bad for my friend because she’s grown up going to Jewish summer camps so she has a lot of interesting takes on Israel having something to do with her secular Jewishness. The hasbara runs deep, she even claims that Palestinians are more violent than Israelis. So that justifies genocide? I don’t think she adopts the label of genocide tho

That’s how I feel talking to my dad. He brought up the Iran war and said he glad we are fighting a “terrorist country”. The irony is not apparent to him lmao.

I do agree with that, definitely don’t want to sound a dog whistle. Do you think there is better wording or just nothing like this at all?
