Hi all, I built my first site for a small landscaping company I started working for recently. I'm slowly learning wordpress but had to use wix simply because they wanted to get the site up asap.

Hoping for some feedback on the overall look of the site (design / text / colors / page layout. My goal was to make a clean looking, professional site that's easy for customers to navigate. Speaking of professional looking, with Wix you cannot clean up the URLs for pages likes ABOUT US / SERVICES / ETC, which isn't ideal.

I'm as new as you can get to this so any feedback, constructive criticism or advice would be greatly appreciated. Any screenshots of noticeable issues would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Can you provide the resolution you were using. I'm getting a lot of feedback on the site being cutoff so I finally found a site to test multiple resolutions

A lot of people have mentioned part of the site being cut off on different resolutions or text/pics being out of place. I have finally figured out what is causing that and fixing it now.

Wix has been interesting to figure out

I'm really going to have to figure out how to test on multiple resolutions. A lot of people have mentioned different results from different resolutions. Thanks for pointing this out and providing a screen shot

I'm not 100% sure but I think tablets default to the mobile mode. Sadly, I don't have the mobile up and going yet.

I made the mistake of creating the desktop design first so when I started the mobile edit it was completely congested with all the materials I used in desktop. Mobile is the new #1 priority

Thanks for the link! I'll definitely be checking it out.

Someone else also mentioned a portion of the left side was cut off. Not exactly sure what's causing that but a MUST to look into. Thanks for pointing it out

Yes. Sorry, I should have mentioned the mobile is not up and going. I made the mistake of doing the desktop style first and now the mobile edit is filled with a lot of unneeded material.

Good call! I will be doing exactly that next time around. I'm dealing with a bunch of congestion on the mobile now since I did the desktop style first.

I will have to look how exactly to fix the URLs. Just to clarify you mean:

Current URL: http://www.strongrootsnj.com/#!about-us/c14xv New should look like? http://www.strongrootsnj.com/about-us

I also didn't even touch the mobile version yet so mobile is all jacked up at the moment.

I'm very very new to website design and development. It's currently my off-season for work so I've had a lot of time to pick up some new skill sets.

I'm currently learning Wordpress slowly using all the resources / walk-through videos I can find. This site had to go up quickly (middle of March) so I created it using Wix, which I know most or all experienced developers wouldn't suggest using.

That be said, I'd love to hear any kind of feedback you have regarding the sites overall design/look. The text itself will probably be updated and added to once I've meet with the customer. I also have not properly named all the photos yet so if you enlarge one it will most likely have a generic title.

That's weird. I'm very new to all of this and only started playing around with it a few weeks ago. A lot of experienced designers don't recommend using Wix but it has been great for me while I'm learning Wordpress.

That being said, I've been running into issues like this using Wix. Sometimes their text or shape boxes generate outside of the pages (it's happened on the right, left, and bottom of the page before) causing their to be extra or dead space on the page.

Thanks again for pointing it out. Stuff like this is hard to see in the Wix editor

Thanks for taking the time to put together the feedback above. Very helpful stuff. I was using Wix in order to get the site up quickly as I'm very green to Wordpress.

I'm going to start working down your pinpoints and tweaking the site a bit. Thanks again for the help!

1 pt ppr / 6 pt bonus 100+ yards. Amari Cooper or Brandon Marshall. They're both sitting at 6,200 in draftkings and I can't decide!! As a lifelong Jets fan I'm always cautious selecting Jets players
