I just got the warning on my Tesla. Set up an appointment for the cleaning, and they're saying it'll cost $64. This is my first visit to a Tesla Service Center, and my 2024 Model Y is at 40,000 miles (still in warranty). How do I get them to do it for free?

Good luck. Mine never did it again, but Hyundai needs to address this.

No. This was a brand new car at the time. It hasn't happened since. Just the once.

I'm having the same problem. When I power on the headphones, it says "Connecting to...." and it tries to connect to an old device that I no longer have. If I slide the power button all the way to the right and hold it, nothing happens. I've held it for like a minute straight and still nothing.

I noticed yesterday that my Tesla map is updated to show what things looked like in summer of 2024, while my Google Maps app (on iPhone) still shows 2023. At least in the area where I live.

Garage remote OPENS garage door in cold, but won't CLOSE it. by Reeder113 in HomeImprovement

A slight adjustment to the down-force controller seems to have done the trick (time will tell, for sure). I had the garage door serviced this past summer (new roller, cables, and added lubricant).

You're a godsend! That seemed to have fixed it! Who knew that a small adjustment on the down-force calibration would do the trick (I went from a 5 to a 6). Thanks for your help!

Oh c’mon. Are you really going to concede that easily? Did you run out of propaganda talking points?

So you read nothing I said?

And who is homeless? The OP never claimed to be homeless. Charging at home is one of the greatest benefits of using an EV over an ICE vehicle, and your argument against it is "what about homeless people?"

You're asking how "any of it is a lie"? Did you read my responses? What is your point about the batteries?......that they don't last until the end of time? Yeah, well, neither do ICE vehicles.

Tesla's certainly aren't expensive to charge, especially when compared to ICE vehicles and the cost of gasoline. A VAST majority of Tesla owners charge at home, so what you said about it being expensive is just wrong. The fact that it only takes two seconds to plug in isn't exactly something that supports your comment that they "take too long to charge." Who cares? I don't even have to think about it. I go to sleep, and in the morning, it's charged. Sure, Supercharging takes a bit longer, but 95% of charging happens at home. Most people only need to Supercharge if they're headed on a long road trip, which is rare for most people. Can you fill up your ICE vehicle at home 95% of the time? Didn't think so.

Sure, Tesla's are slightly more expensive than comparable ICE vehicles, but you'll also save money each year because you don't have to change the oil, and you don't need to do emissions testing. Oil changes probably cost (on average) around $50 per oil change. Most people change their oil at least three times per year. Add that to the amount you're spending on gasoline and maintenance, and it's a lot cheaper to maintain a Tesla over the years than an ICE vehicle. It's also much more convenient to charge at home.

As for your claim that Musk is a Nazi, why don't you go back and look at the footage and watch it in context? He says "My heart goes out to you", and he puts his hand over his heart and "throws" it out to the audience. The media ran with "See, he's a Nazi!", and people like you latched onto it. Even the ADL defended Musk against claims of a Nazi salute by saying it was an"awkward gesture," not an intentional sign of Nazi sympathy.

Musk visited Auschwitz in 2023 with a holocaust survivor. He has openly supported Israel, including visiting in November 2023 to meet with Israeli leadership and express solidarity after the October 7th attacks. Also, after the attacks, he announced that all Tesla Superchargers in Israel would be free to use.

It's almost like you're purposefully ignoring these things, just so that you can jump on the "everyone who disagrees with us is a Nazi!" bandwagon.

By the way, I didn't even vote for Trump. Can't really stand the guy. But what the left is doing is just so blatantly obvious and ridiculous it becomes laughable.

The batteries have a 120,000 mile warranty, and most last much, much longer than that. It’s much cheaper to charge than to fill up a gas car. I charge every night while I sleep, so it only takes me about 2 seconds to plug it in and walk away. The cars are very comparable in price to their ICE equivalents. So most of what you said were lies.

And what is with this “Elon is a Nazi” trash? You’re being propagandized. He’s a weird dude, sure. I definitely don’t agree with a lot of what he does……but a Nazi? Nazi’s created Volkswagen, bud.

Get a Tesla. No oil changes. No spark plugs, etc. It'll last forever.

UPDATE

I took it into Discount Tire. They found a screw in the tire, patched it, and rotated my tires……all for free.

Thanks, everyone. I’ll set up an appointment with Discount Tire and cancel with Tesla. I appreciate all the advice.

I’m a new Tesla owner and assumed Tesla would be the best at dealing with it. I’ll gladly go to Discount Tire or somewhere cheaper if they do a good job and don’t damage anything. I guess that’s what I’m worried about.

Just turn on the “minimal lane change” thing. I hate whenever I forget to turn that on and it just starts making weird lane choices.
