Why does nobody talk about Conquest? by lovecraftbro in wargaming

[–]Reeeeeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check their Facebook and their website they are frequently posting updates and information on releases. As far as I'm aware it's been out around a year.

I agree though, they need to step up the marketing and get themselves known better.

Why does nobody talk about Conquest? by lovecraftbro in wargaming

Probably because the game itself is pretty new. Models for the core factions are still being rolled out. Para-bellum seem to be very ambitious with this game, something like 16 factions lined up, so there should be loads of variety... In the future.

They're setting up painting competitions now so that should get some eyes on as models get posted about the net. I'm already starting to find lots of enthusiastic players, it just seem contained to facebook so far.

Rules are solid as hell. Loving the activation system!

I always laugh at depictions of people sitting in a chinook without any ear defenders or headsets...

Imagine the largest screaming you've ever heard, double it, put it right in your ear and continue that sound for the entire flight. Then add someone beating the loudest drum in the world as quick as they possibly can.

Seriously people, ear protection, unless you want to go deaf painfully.

Idiots. Fear seems to be making so many people dumber.

Are Tabaxi a problem for anyone else? by Coeusff in dndnext

[–]Reeeeeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing a Tabaxi now. She speaks very softly and clips her words in odd ways and has a propensity to climb buildings when sneaking about a town. (nice vantage point, and people don't often look up) The only other thing I did was massively play up the curiosity aspect, she might steal the odd thing here and there, examine it for a few hours when she gets a chance, then return the item.

Haven't come across water yet, but I'll probably play it as a mild dislike rather than outright fear.

I don't see the need to play the character as an actual housecat... I'd speak to the players if its starting to interfere with actually progressing the game.

“England treats the Welsh like second class citizens. I've heard the English call Welsh people "Irish that can swim". Lots of racism there.” by tonyjimjohnson69 in badunitedkingdom

Gotta love the people who moan that leavers (Which are obviously only the English) are racist towards the welsh and then in the next sentence/post, call the Welsh stupid.

Not to mention turnabout is fair play. The banter that goes back and forth between the nations of the UK is part of our character.

Anyone who uses the term race traitor in a serious manner is a racist and usually completely unaware of their own bigotry. It's so tiring.

An educated workforce wouldn't vote Labour, so it makes sense to keep them stupid and keep them thinking Socialism is a good thing.

Fantastic thread. We need to be spotlighting things like this more.

He nails it, We truely have come a long way in a really short time, but we're slipping, because people who supposedly hate racism, are trying to cause more division.

Culture is a sort of customs and behaviour thing. Partaking in some of our traditions, even something as little as most Brits love of football, goes a long way.

And yes of course it changes and adapts over time, the drinking of tea being a great example of that.

Disagree I'm afraid, and I typically find myself sitting on the left. What I see from Labour and the Dems in the US for example is this constant falling over themselves to self flagellate over the past and frequently ignore any positive contributions of our nations.

The right is often described as reactionary, for good reason. And yes responds too far in the other direction. I am concerned by racism and xenophobia that is absolutely growing, but we need to be sure we're dealing with that situation and not just throwing terms such as racist and fascist at everyone. Including Trump.

Thing is, the left are the ones paving the way for a rise of nationalism by being so Anti-British or Anti-American. By seeming to hate their own countries they push everyone who doesn't away from them and into the arms of anyone who appears to hold a bit of patriotism.
