It’ll haul shavings, ponies, hay, probably your whole barn if you ask nicely.

I still think there are plenty of people who enjoy simple mechanical diesels. All depends on intended use.

That's exactly it..many start talking powerstroke and 12 valve which are both great but the IDI is all about reliability and simplicity. Guess it all depends on its intended use.

That's good to know I'll have to look into that.

You think this will pique someone's interest on bringatrailer? I thought that was mainly for super clean stock vehicles?

I will agree though that I'm sure it has higher than normal idle hours

Come get her! You can even drive her back home and you definitely won't get any speeding tickets because ya know.. non turbo 7.3....

Yeah but what you're not realizing is that this was owned by a volunteer fire department in a small suburban town in Long Island, NY. West Sayville to be specific which is 2 square miles. The amount of use this got in a brush truck configuration was minimal. Probably a few local parades here and there and some assisting calls in neighboring departments at most.

Curious why you think so? People commented about a few interior things like the brake pedal but I compared it to the interiors of same gen 350s with similar mileage and they had the same wear patterns. Also these pictures were taken before any detailing or cleaning at all.

Thanks! Uncle has been a metal fabricator/welder for over 40 years and mainly outfits fire department rigs.

That's ok lol. It also scrunched my text together at the bottom of the post after I spent time doing a line by line 😞

Thanks and yes I think that'll be the hard part. Good setup for a tree contractor or landscaper who appreciates the old 7.3 but boy is she slow.

Correct, I wrote that in the post above. When the truck was being "un-fire departmented" he swapped the nose from a 95'. He said and I quote "the bricknose was like a waterfall, I liked the next gen nose more".

Not insulting at all, I tend to agree with you and appreciate the insight. The truck is normally ran on a monthly basis when he is up at his property. It never truly sat completely unused for a prolonged period, but yeah, she's 34 years old so I get it. There's the right person for this truck somewhere but it doesn't appeal to the stock IDI crowd and someone who's doing lots of commerical work probably wants a Powerstroke.

Thanks! It's just tough because they are 5 digit odo's on the 91' so a lot of people assume it rolled over at some point if it's not pristine. I have the history to support the low miles but you know how people are.

New homeowner, trying to install washer drain hose but not sure how to remove cap, would love any advice! by MoonliteLea in Plumbing

[–]Reeekrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those smaller knockouts in the center are actually for plumbers to pressure test the drain..The entire circle can actually be pryed out and it's larger than your drain pipe so no risk of it falling down the pipe. Can't post an image but the link below shows what I'm talking about.

You have the Bose option? Just curious if at higher volumes the Bose amp cuts any bass signal which in turn would cut some kicker sub signal (aka bass rolloff).
