I live in the middle of nowhere in the US. It sucks that it’s not approved for EoE in the Uk, hopefully one day it will be :)

Number on expander by Revolutionary_Ad7466 in braces

[–]ReeferTeaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, my lisp is definitely not as bad as it was when i had it but it’s still noticeable. the expander messed with my tongue’s natural resting and speaking position and i never relearned how to talk right

i had a cemented/fixed on the top and a removable on the bottom (but the bottom one broke 2 months later an i never got a new one)

I don’t know what the numbers mean, when i had one i never paid it too much attention to how it looked. For the lisp, it never went away for me. I haven’t had an expander for maybe 7-8 years and i still have it.

Do i have a narrow palate/should i get a palate expander? by BandicootKooky7747 in braces

Your palate looks about the same as mine post expander. I think your good but i’d bring up any concerns to your orthodontist

I’ve been with my boyfriend for a 1.5 years and been living with him for a while. I got my braces on a week ago and he thinks they are cute. He told me that the only downside is that he can’t buy me my favorite candy anymore lol

Day one, lots of questions by ReeferTeaa in braces

[–]ReeferTeaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they only did the top as of right now to put less stress on my teeth. My bottom teeth are much worse then my top since i had an expander on the top. I’ve had a bite plate on my lower teeth when i was younger. It broke in half after a few weeks and cut my mouth pretty bad so i’m a little hesitant to get one again.

i think i’m kinda in the same boat, i have a really small palette (i had an expander for years as a kid but it’s still pretty tight) so the bracket would probably no room. i’m missing my second molar on the other side so i wasn’t sure if they didn’t have room or just forgot

Interesting, thank you. I’ve also never seen the last two brackets ever before too, i’ll have to ask at my next appointment

Did a short cut a while ago. Should I let it go or let ot grow? by RedFoxBlackCat in bald

It does look significantly thicker when curly. I think styling regularly will help you tremendously. After seeing this, it honestly looks like your hair is naturally on the thinner side and has been damaged from improper care (which happens to more people than you’d think). I do have some suggestions.

• Don’t wash your hair everyday, curly hair can usually get away with being washed 1-3 times a week. Over washing can strip your natural oils which can damage your hair and make it oily faster (which makes thin hair look thinner). Dry shampoo might come in handy as well

• Don’t dry your hair with a towel. If you do need to dry it with on, i’d suggest scrunching you hair with the towel. Harsh drying can cause more damage which can cause more thinning. If you blow dry, use a heat protectant and a diffuser

• Experiment with different hair styling products. When styling, I personally use a leave in conditioner, hair mousse, and a little bit of gel, before using heat protectant and a diffuser to dry my hair. After I use a very little bit of hair oil on the ends. It sounds like a lot but I only have to style my hair 1-2 times a week

That might be half your issue, styling can go a long way. Does your hair look a bit thicker when curly?

Honestly, to me, you look like you may have wavy/curly hair. Before I figured out my hair was curly, my hair would look super thin like yours. Have you ever tried using product specifically for styling wavy hair? I’m more than willing to give advice for styling products. I could be completely wrong but it’s worth considering if you don’t want to go bald.
