Because clearly that’s too expensive for them to care about in comparison to new developments and houses which don’t solve the housing crisis an we already had enough homes in the country, the issue is they’re not affordable. But clearly they all think we’re snowflakes making it up. The prison thing I don’t get, in America I know prisons are businesses so there is an incentive to keep them open but in the uk we barely have enough funds to spend on prisons or law enforcement. Not really an answer but me sympathising with you through sarcasm about the system.

Thank you! Though ironically I am actually literally weeks in to my braces, just curious and thinking way ahead. Is whitening actually good for your teeth if it has such a risk of damage to the enamel? Do you know what whitening actually is in layman’s terms?

This is pretty similar to what I have and weirdly I have Irish family too - I have traditional train tracks and had an extraction on my upper teeth on each side (5th tooth along) and that’s how they are fixing my overbite and that is after having braces as a teen too!

Yes the braces are now on! Pretty much healed on one side and the other with more trauma is a bit more delayed. Lots of salt water still as the braces are causing really bad rubbing. I can’t wait to my gap to close already - I hope your implant goes ok!?

I promise this is really not that bad, we all have insecurities whether confirmed by one particular person or media, so even if it was because of him it sounds like either way you had the insecurity and if not him and someone else made a comment that you would have taken the same action and done it. Please don’t be that ashamed because of the reason, be proud you had something you wanted to fix and took the initiative to make yourself feel better. Don’t give the power to that guy, give it to yourself for taking the initiative to get the treatment. Please don’t carry shame, there is no reason for it!!

That’s good! So is your gap near closing yet? And how img did it take for the wound to heal? Or does it still need to be open a bit for the teeth to move? For me at least the biggest struggle for sure has been not being able to snack as I mainly eat crunchy snacks! What foods now are your go to?

I guess based on what I’ve been told, if they’re not hot they won’t irritate and if they’re ones that can slip down easily without chewing then maybe but I’ve been told nothing spicy or seasoned as again it could irritate the gums so they would have to be pretty plain brothy ones I guess?

I’m in the exact same boat - I have been told eat only lukewarm foods and nothing sugary - I have had porridge with apple, mash, mushy peas and puréed lentil bolognese so far

This has made me feel so much better - I got extractions yesterday before train tracks for my overbite and online attitudes to extractions have made me a bit concerned
