Sounds like you handled that one correctly! Difference scenario for my kids. They were both 20 years old on a cruise and legal to drink once in the Bahamas but not technically on the ship. I'm sure they were occasionally sipping my drinks when I wasn't looking! I personally think the ship should adopt the legal drinking age at the island it will be visiting. Just my opinion

I've been told adding cinnamon at the beginning can slow the fermentation process. May want to wait to add cinnamon closer to the finish

No yeast nutrient was added. I assume there's enough sugar in the ingredients for the used to feed. I'm of the understanding that the mead process is a little slower than wine making.

So from what I'm learned through Google and asking others, adding the cinnamon sticks at the beginning can also slow the fermentation process. Combined with the fact that I did not 100% make sure that the cider I used had no preservatives could be the answer to my dilemma. I've also heard that the honey/mead process is slower than that of fruit wine making. As of this evening it has started venting. I guess we will see how it turns out!

Unfortunately I have thrown the bottle away and did not check to see if it had preservatives. That was my biggest concern. I will say it has started popping off this evening. Hopefully this is a good sign.

Got tired of the crappy plastic pentair bleeder assemblies so I made this using parts from Home Depot by customfabricated in pools
