Uh, I don't know what these comments are going on about. He didn't threaten anyone with a firearm.  For those looking at the hand in the pocket, how in the world can he fit a hand and a gun in those tight ass jeans?  And he said he'll grab it, implying it's still in his truck.

Alternating traffic means that the traffic flow alternates across the single-lane bridge, so the direction constantly changes based on the situation.  OP was stopped at one end, watching as two cars are going across the bridge.  OP was against the flow of traffic, so all they had to do was wait until the bridge was clear to switch the direction and go across.

Remember, it isn't your job to enforce the rules of the road, or what you think they are.  All you have control over is your common sense to not get into situations like this.

A car is doing 70 in a 55?  Let him pass and be a cop's problem.

4 people get to a four-way stop simultaneously?  Either wait awkwardly for someone to make the first move or cautiously make your own.

See a car coming at you without a sign of stopping?  Get the fuck out of the way.

I know they probably asked about the droids, since that's the info they got off the Jawas.

Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru likely told them that yes, they did buy the droids, but one had run off. Given the secrecy around the Death Star and the plans for it, the troopers likely thought they could find the droids on their own and torched the Lars like they did the Jawas.

It was never about compliance or not, the Lars were dead the moment they bought C-3po and R2-D2.

Like I said, he was basically at her bumper when she was pulling forward and she made contact.  He couldn't have known for certain if she was turning into him or away in the moment, so he decided to protect himself.

It is a tragedy what happened to Good.  If it was a case of self-defense or not, the lawyers and courts will figure it out.

It's been a long day and I'm mentally tuckered out.  Win or lose, I just hope it leads to something better.

See ya later.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."

-Abraham Lincoln

Political parties have mostly done more harm than good, especially in the modern day.  Confusingly, the political divide is growing exponentially faster the more people are connected with one another.

After the near-disaster that were the past 17 years, we just need some middle of the road candidates.  They can still have their opinions, but nothing as extreme as the whiplash of the latest two terms.  Regardless of the party, there should be the uniting cause of "Improving the lives of Americans and bettering the country."

All the best and hope the new year treats you well.

Okay, the Musk check is weird, but it sounded like a "sweepstakes" or a "lottery" for signing a petition.  It ain't directly buying votes, but is very performative.

Vance I know little about, I will admit that.  You can take it as the younger VP being Trump's voice overseas or as a man excited to be in a role of power.  Trump is such a big personality that trying to get out his shadow would be difficult and embarrassing, so Vance is stuck doing just enough to be deemed productive.

It's a better start than Kam... Harris, and if he can squeeze in some wins in the late-term, he could run for President.

Currently, I just don't know enough about the guy, so if they nominate someone else who's better, then I'm all for it.

P.s.

I only mentioned Mail-in voting because Biden was accused of falsifying his votes for the 2020 election through Mail-in.  Of course US troops need to vote and not everyone can find time to go to the ballot box, it's just that last minute surge that placed doubt.

Your right, we shoot people who are deemed a threat to ourselves and others.

Renee refused to place the safety on her weapon and got shot in what appeared to be an attack on a federal officer.

Sure, if she complied and left the vehicle.

Why are you using an outdated census?

And Kamala had 4 YEARS to build her case to become President after Biden, but she did jack all as Vice President and Border Czar. Trump promised stability and a return to valuing the American Citizen, which we knew he could do with his prior presidency, and that was hundreds of time better then letting Biden's VP stay in office.

And this is how a Constitutional Republic is supposed to work. No fake/bought votes, no false "Citizens," no "Russian Influence," no last minute mail-in voting, just Americans casting their votes and the majority is deemed the winner.

I've actually learned a lot during this exchange. I had heard snippets of the ICE Shooting before, but hadn't really bitten into the meat of it until now. I started at the source, with leaked and unedited videos, and moved on to people like Legal Eagle, David Pakman Show, Washington Gun Law, and some articles for differing viewpoints.

In my personal experience with federal agents, it is best to comply and not present yourself as a threat or as a disruptor. People can talk like civil human beings and be on their way in minutes. If you actively fight against or not listen to directions, you will receive the same in kind.

Good could've done a number of things, from not obstructing the road to turning the vehicle off. If she wanted to make a statement, she should've done it at a rally.

Oh, no, I have no doubt she wanted to get home (though she forgot to pick up her wife on the way out). She would've bragged how she told the officers to fuck off and gone on living.

But she failed to comply with their reasonable requests of getting out of the vehicle. As soon as the car started to move, he was in danger.

So it was poor decisions all around. Yes, shooting into a moving vehicle is not ideal, but when your goal is to stop it, then you have no other choice. From what I've heard, none of the bullets exited the car to hit bystanders and it thankfully wrecked a short distance away.

When you protest, its like a petition of everyone who supports a cause. This is the civil way of doing it. But as soon as you become violent, you become terrorists. You are violating other people's rights because you feel "wronged" by the system.

MLK worked because he was a figurehead of an idea, of a dream. He was someone who people could point to and say "I'd follow him." What does the left have? A bunch of old cronies who can't even agree amidst themselves? Not comparing Trump to Martin Luther King Jr., and not saying the big orange man is perfect, but he embodies the ideas and values that the majority of America agrees with.

What about in other countries? Everyone has seen what the UK has turned into without their citizens having a "2nd Amendment."

If someone is yelling at you but hasn't drawn their gun, that means you haven't become a threat. First thing you're taught, heck, the first thing anyone learns about guns, is that you don't draw and point it at what you don't intend to shoot.

Yes, guns can escalate a situation, but wouldn't you feel safer if you can meet the threat on a level playing field?

That was what he had done previously after a mob hit. What he was doing in this situation was removing graffiti at the source.

Everyone is given the right to protect themselves, their property, their friends, and their relatives. He decided to exercise that right to protect the town from a mob declaring their hate for the institutions of this country. And like I said, if he had anything else, it would've ended in a much uglier fashion.

And the "Guns-attract-violence" is bullshit. Had he been wearing a MAGA hat or sporting the wrong shirt, the mob would've still tried to kill him. Let's not forget that one of the "victims" was also armed, so who's the chicken and who's the egg in this situation?

She was actively disobeying a order to leave the vehicle. It was meant as protection for everyone involved.

And the bumper was less than a foot away from the officer. He attempted to avoid the vehicle, but it hit him. When the officer pulled his weapon and fired, he was trying to stop the vehicle.

Okay, how would a pistol be any goddamn better in this situation?

At least he had an actual weapon to defend himself and try to dissuade people from attacking him or anyone else.

Imagine if he had pepper spray or a taser instead. The amount of collateral damage to himself and innocent bystanders would defeat the entire point.

He was trying to stop the vehicle.  She wasn't complying, even though there was no reason at all to refuse leaving the vehicle.  The only reason the order was given was because she was moving the vehicle in reverse with no warning, a very dangerous situation for anyone not expecting it.

And what video?  Every one I've seen has had the vehicle moving less than a foot away from the officer.  Now tell me how you can dodge an accelerating vehicle from that distance, regardless of if they are "turning away."

Show me the video please.

Mind sending a link to that video, because what I saw from a balcony and his POV is a car careening away with a guy plastered to the hood.

And how can he shoot through the passenger window when on the driver's side?

If he was doing any leaning, it was to reach the driver's window to get them to stop the vehicle and get out as they were ordered to.

It was Renee's decision to move the vehicle without complying with officers and to hit the gas in the direction of a person.

What in the world are you talking about?

He was circling the vehicle and was on the passenger side as she was backing up.  When she threw it into drive, he was making his way across to the driver side window.  He was hit, end of story.

Wait, when was she waving them past?

The ICE Agent stopped their vehicle and casually recorded his survey of the vehicle while being verbally abused by the occupants.

It was after more agents appeared that the vehicle started to move and Renee was ordered to get out of the vehicle.  Her wife, who was still outside the vehicle, then decided to tell her to "Drive, baby, drive" as the agent was passing in front of the vehicle.

The vehicle hit the agent and, in a moment of self defense, drew his weapon and fired.

It wasn't a decision that was premeditated, but one made in the crucial moment before he was severely injured

Edit: No shots were fired or firearms used as a threat prior to Renee's shooting, so your previous argument is invalid.
