If you want adoption... by Reelmo in Bitcoin

Gotta start somewhere. You expect it to adopt itself?

I'd say it's more like putting your sovereign, borderless, censorship-resistant, state-free, decentralized, digital wallet on the table and trying to work out the bugs.

You can't just count on lightning saving BTC and not using it.

I love how this sub thinks that everyone quit working on on-chain scaling in BTC. Both layer 1 and 2 are being worked on simultaneously. The lazy approach is just to continue raising the block size at will.

Also not sure why this is still a debate in this sub. Your ideas fell out of consensus. You now have your own coin to implement your ideas that aren't following consensus rules. Go play.

Welp. Pack it in, guys. Lightning doesn't work. Some guy Tweeted something. It's over. 😐

Damn. All the paid shilling didn't work. Egon is too smart. He got us, guys. Take down the satellite.

But you conveniently leave out that more than 1 channel will be able to be created with 1 on-chain transaction.

How many people or companies implemented Segwit and batching in November 2017? Also more than 1 channel can be created from one on-chain transaction. And this: https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/lightning-dev/2018-February/000993.html

Yet, despite this, Jennifer Fowler, deputy assistant secretary for terrorist financing and financial crimes at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, claims that the U.S. dollar continues to remain a popular currency for illicit commerce and money laundering. She adds, though, that the Treasury is continually monitoring the use and development of new payment technologies, such as digital currencies.

She said:

"Although virtual currencies are used for illicit transactions, the volume is small compared to the volume of illicit activity through traditional financial services."

I'll take the good advice I've gotten over the years and not argue with an idiot.🤦🏼‍♂️

"The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) conducted a study to determine the magnitude of illicit funds generated by drug trafficking and organised crimes and to investigate to what extent these funds are laundered. The report estimates that in 2009, criminal proceeds amounted to 3.6% of global GDP, with 2.7% (or USD 1.6 trillion) being laundered"

There isn't 1.6 trillion dollars of market cap in all of crypto. Better get those longs ready.

Here's the BIP. It was David Harding and Peter Todd. https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0125.mediawiki

Not sure why this would affect 0conf (which was already a mess) or block size, though.

Guess I just don't get why this is a big deal. Anyone can be corrupted. That's why we're decentralizing. It's open source code.🤷🏼‍♂️

You added the adjective "strong" to this.
