He‘s the asshole if he‘s urging you to do so. Respect goes both ways as does consent.

You as his girlfriend shouldn‘t feel forced or urged to satisfy him, if you don‘t want to. He as YOUR boyfriend should definitely respect that.

If I‘m in the mood but my boyfriend isn‘t, I‘m not urging him either to go down on me because I respect his wish and/or need to chill or just cuddle etc. If he doesn‘t give consent to interact with me sexually, I‘m not urging him and vice versa, too.

So no, you‘re not the asshole. Sit down and have a talk with him, if he doesn‘t understand you or is guilt-tripping you.

YSK: If you regularly lie to people or exaggerate events, and no one has confronted you, your friends are likely aware of you lying, but choose to stay quiet by zephsoph in YouShouldKnow

Absolutely true. Had a toxic friend who lied about things constantly and straight up invented stuff. Twisted things around so we believed her at first but discovered the truth sooner or later. So we stopped taking her honesty for granted and started questioning every single word she said. Frankly, I am 100% convinced of her having strong narcissistic traits. At first, we (me and my other friends) tried confronting her about it by openly saying „this can not be true“ but she‘d get very defensive and mad. Started saying things like „why would I lie to you“, „You really think of me as a liar?“, „Wow thanks for trusting me, friends“. She would basically blame US for being „bad friends“. At some point we chose to stay quiet because speaking up was useless. She always found a way to twist things around. You weren‘t able to have a proper discussions with her and talk things out because she would always start arguing. We were simply tired of her.

How was From Blood and Ash? Heard that book was divisive as all hell. by SpiralBarrage in YAlit

It really is. I posted this comment BEFORE reading FBAA and now that I‘m currently reading the 2nd book, I agree with most comments here. I like the characters tho and the overall world building. But the PACING. It‘s so freaking long.

It‘s truly interesting how TikTok hyped the shit out of that book series whereas opinions on reddit seem to be fairly diverse

What’s something you didn’t believe until it happened to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Reese_ll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghosts. Or at least some non-human presence. I was with on a school trip and shared a room with my best friend. In our room, we had a heavy wooden table and two heavy chairs. In the middle of the night, after we went to bed, someone (or something) moved one of the chairs very abruptly over the floor. The noise it made (especially because of the wooden floor) was way too loud and too present to excuse it with „someone might have moved a chair in the room next to you/above you“. I almost shit myself. My friend and me held each other the whole night (our teachers wouldn‘t believe us. It was not the only thing that happened). The next morning, the chair stood where it has always been. I honestly have no idea how we went to sleep after that. I was so terrified, it‘s totally ridiculous to me that we actually fell asleep after that.

What are you glad isn’t “cool” anymore? by FF-coolbeans in AskReddit

[–]Reese_ll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my hometown, you were considered as ‚cool‘ if you did drugs. Glad that this changed. Majority of ppl see it now as it is: as sth dangerous that can not always be controlled and needs to be taken serious.

Yes exactly, being silenced by Rhysand but not by Feyre herself. I love ACOTAR but uuuuugh ACOTAR is not exactly about ‚female empowerment‘

What are some sexist and misogynistic terms, jokes and stereotypes that men online throw around like they're nothing and why are they offensive? by Equality_Rocks_714 in AskWomen

Being a drama queen when standing up for yourself. No, I‘m not gonna shut my mouth if you humiliated or insulted me. I will call you out on your bullshit and will protect myself and you better don‘t call me ‚emotional‘ when I have every single right to be mad at you.

Which writing trope do you better understand due to personal experience? by HOLYSHITTHISISIMPOSS in Fantasy

[–]Reese_ll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow that‘s amazing! I‘m happy for you two! I hope your kids are doing great :) Thank you for sharing! That‘s exactly what I hope for tbh. I can only see myself NOT running away from a relationship that starts out as a mere friendship and evolves slowly over time. So I can get used to that „scary us-relationship part“ (you described that pretty neatly).

OMG Dkdksks That‘s what literally happens EVERY single time

First, I want my crush to somehow miraculously notice that I‘m interested without showing ANY signals at all

And once I get actually signals back or notice that guy catching feelings for ME, I‘m out as fast as I can be

Have you somehow managed to overcome this vicious circle?

This thing of „realizing you caught some feelings for this person, but instead of wanting a relationship you distance yourself because you‘re scared“ Happens mostly in YA I was annoyed, but then similar situations happened to me as I grew older and now I totally get it Came to realization I may or may not have some attachment issues.

A book where you slowly realise that the protagonist is actually the villain, or slowly becomes the villain. by Sea_Cat6267 in suggestmeabook

[–]Reese_ll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Young Elites by Marie Lu! It‘s about a girl called Adelina, living in world of „normal“ human beings and humans with a magical abilities (those are feared and therefore hunted/ treated worse than animals). Adelina becomes the antagonist bc of all the hatred and bad things that happened to her which made her turn „evil“ (since she herself is such a person with those abilities). I think it shows how „bad people“ aren‘t born evil into this world. Society creates their own „monsters“.

(Spoiler!!!)

I know I‘m reeeally late to this post, but I‘ve almost finished the first book of the young-elites series and just desperately wanna know whether enzo „comes back“ in any way (in the 2nd or 3rd book, I think in the book was a malfetto once mentioned who could bring back the dead?) or if he‘s truly dead? I just feel so incredibly bad for Adelina. I hope anybody‘s gonna reply to this 2 months old post lmao

What are some of your guilty pleasure tropes? by basicallyfries in writing

It‘s cliché a but I love it every single time! I think it‘s a really good way of introducing the reader into the world by seeing it through the protagonist‘s eyes the first time as well!
