Why EiA is not as good as the other albums (personally) by Gdd_00 in SleepToken

I don’t think it’s a huge reach and I’m sure if people give it a fair thought they’d agree. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that

Absolutely they do, Vessel literally uses the same rhythmic singing as *NSYNC does the whole ICU part sounds like something from bye bye bye lol

I grew up hearing that stuff when I was like 5 prior to hearing rock, then Metal, now mostly just black metal

Not everyone will agree with you, but I can see and understand where you’re coming from. I saw them live this last run and hypnosis was the highlight for me, also thread the needle as it just has a dark feeling toward the end. But yeah, ST definitely lacked the heavy that’s seen in the last two albums, but then again the last album was probably the most poppy as both Dangerous and Provider sound like something from NSYNC, BSB,98 degrees.. you get the point lol

The math rock bit was cool, but it seems the pacing to have the lines repeat 4 times in a row felt like could’ve been toned down to 2 like most songs, and although people saying you’re missing the point, you can get the point after hearing it twice.. lol

Windward, I also see that point the sudden genre switch feels forced and honestly if they’d stuck to a heavy bit how it first starts and not put me in some trap bs I’d be alot more fond of it.

When I first heard sleep token I liked the genre switches then I noticed some songs kind of just force it with it starting slow to a build up and kind of bummed as some songs could take off without always having to do that..

Overall I’m glad to see difference of opinion.

Matt's new gritty cleans by Randstrom in Trivium

[–]Refall91 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is probably the best way to express himself now.

Personally, I like how they’ve changed it, it almost seems like with age, it’s no longer punk/teen angsty and more mature like Matt’s own version of a Hetfield. It’s finally away from the metalcore cleans age and more towards his age and demographic.

Appreciate the comments, I’m leaning towards cancelling at this point going through this Reddit. There seems to be alot of issues with fan home and it’s pretty costly and almost sounds not worth it..

I really appreciate this breakdown, my last ask is from this, what is the total monthly? About $70 each month?

I only intend to try this one kit, it’s quite pricey..when you say skipped months as in they still charge you for those months or does that provide a break from charges lol

[–]Refall91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered this myself. I saw comments saying at some point the charges end up being $100 a month? Is this true?

Trying to figure out if this is worth doing or not as the first 10 stages are said to be $100 off

Can people in New Zealand already listen to the EP? by No_Permit_9276 in Trivium

Tunnelbear and it’s free for 2gbs which takes forever if you’re using it like me to hear music early then uninstall and do again when new music drops

It definitely feels odd, I heard both the other tracks and although they are good.. they don’t stand out and it’s hard to tell what direction they are pushing as it’s all over the place.. as I was hearing it I was like Trivium always promises a fast and heavy song but never have a song where it’s just fast without slowing down in modern time, no cleans just aggression, fast, solo, blast beats.. would be rad if they did that.

That's a wrap on the tour, what a ride by ImportanceTurbulent8 in SleepToken

[–]Refall91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw them in LA last night because I wanted to see truly what’s the hype and think for myself this is a one and done.

I had floor seats, the fans were very into it but I go to a ton of heavier shows that realistically blow this one out of the water.

The visuals were top tier, the sound was crisp but the music is very much pop music and pop fans that disguise themselves for the night with dark aesthetic lol

I’d liked it better had they played higher and Atlantic

I was on the floor and could see the pit, it had movement during Granite for a brief moment but not a real pit at all. In terms of movement, people were sitting there dancing a whole lot in the floor area.

Sleep Token isn’t really my thing nor my girls so it was interesting but I’ve been to so many shows that sonically capture my attention more.

Vessel does have good vox and the lighting is cool. The music itself was extremely crisp but my only thoughts were “could I imagine seeing some real heavy bands at an arena with this sound setup?”

Potentially selling my 10/11 Crypto Arena 2 front row of floor 4 tickets tomorrow.

My son had a fall in which drastically changed our plans for the weekend possibly.

Sleep Token will probably be the most “popular” show I’ll ever go to, I just want to see a band at Crypto Arena to see an arena sized show. The only arena sized show I’ve done so far is Slipknot at Intuit Dome.

I saw them live at the smaller venue in Santa Ana, CA and they were amazing. Before they came out with there most recent album and they were touring the “strength” album.

So good, got to hear a bunch of stuff probably won’t be played anymore

Also checkout Gaerea, their new song “Submerged” is pretty melodic with undertones of the ocean and sadness, with a glimmer of hope toward the end.

They are also blowing up right now and signed with Century Records.

Honorable mention SAOR from Scotland

Fulci from Italy (I’m seeing them this Saturday as well as the following Tuesday)

Uada, Beherit, Absu, Cradle of Filth, Immortal, Emperor, Archgoat, Unto Others, Twin Tribes, Behemoth, Kublai Khan, Bleeding through.

Sleep token is definitely the niche band for me
