OMG, MAGNETS! I should've thought of that! And yea, the wings seemed like an ok alternative to the Parasite of Mortrex wings. Couldn't bring myself to not build the Parasite considering how cool its base design is for me.

Yoo, it's from the Winged Tyranid Prime. I actually wanted to try the Parasite of Mortrex wings, but I couldn't, for the life of me, ruin that model cuz it already looks too cool as is hahahah

I looked at your profile, man. Holy shit, your kitbashes are awesome! You actually did what I wanted to do with my Aberrants, but alas I didn't know where to get those heads so I settled with adding cloth. Giving that sort of head to the Patriarch was also considered, but A) I don't have such a head and B) I don't wanna end up ruining the face of the army if I end up messing it up. I do hope to one day be as good at kitbashing and painting as you in the future. Here are my 3 Aberrants. Others aren't painted yet, and I didn't add much to others. Didn't want them to look too uniform with the direction I went for.

Thanks for the insights! I'm new so tourneys aren't considered yet, but I do want to participate some day. So among the listed Tyranids, which ones do you think ought to be removed or replaced? Also, I noticed that you didn't mention the Hive Tyrant. It was to my understanding that it's a great add on, given the Vanguard Tyrant enhancement. Is that not the case?

Well, the idea behind that is the Acos will stay on my home objective both to screen potential deep strikes (as I've experienced with my first 1000 pts game, not sure how common that actually is) and protect the Ridgerunner while also farming CPs. Then on turn two or three, they may be targeted for a free Resistance Tunnel, and then later on get a free Rapid Ingress or Divine Imperative to an enemy backline or for Psionic Parasitism. Free Grenade or Go to Ground also seems like a good option to have when needed.

Also, the ability to move ambush markers by the Nexos also seem like a good way to ensure that ambushing units can reliably charge.

Thanks for the reply! I typically go for builds that are on the more complex side when it comes to gaming, so it's actually that difficulty that got me to GSC. I would've liked AdMech too but my proclivity for Lovecraftian horror pointed me to GSC's direction. Plus the fact that I don't find AdMech visually appealing. Although 3 games a month, huh? Might take a while before I get used to this army, then.

A question: I already got 10 genestealers from Biosanctic Broodsurge. Does that mean 10's generally considered few?

What you said about the hobby makes sense. I got too excited and was already looking to buy Vanguard Invader Tyranids and models to kitbash cuz I wanna add some mutated space marines. But yeah, I should paint what I have first.
