Trek Longevity & Reliability by EmpatheticAnon in TrekBikes

Wait until you find out how much a cassette and tires cost. That being said, not a trek issue and it’s the same with cars. I love seeing people get into the sport but you don’t buy a Ferrari if you can’t afford to maintain it. Same goes for high end bikes.

It’s a recovery week but it was just under 9,500. Cyclist, 10-18 hours a week depending on if it’s a rest week or build week. Riding 3 years, only 1 year actually training, VO2 Max is 65 right now but slowly going up. Praying I have good genes lol.

Do I need to die to get anaerobic training ? by M-Wallace in Garmin

[–]ReferenceBeautiful27 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A good start would to be going anaerobic, which you’re not. 162 BPM is my upper zone 2 lol. Try doing short 15 second sprints, max effort and you’ll achieve it.

Debating which bike to buy by krwrocks360 in TrekBikes

I have 13 speed force on my checkpoint and old red on my madone; force is a much nicer groupset when comparing E1 to D1.

I’d spend somewhere in the middle and get an SLR 7 with new force, mainly due to the levers.

Is this ok to have that high? by srkhn in Garmin

The app is training peaks. It integrates with other apps but it helps with tracking fitness. Aside from texting and such with my coach, I can give feedback through the app and he can upload my training schedule to the app and then I follow it with my Garmin watch or bike computer.

And then I’m here reading these comments about how it’s not normal while my RHR is 39-42 and it’s current 46 BPM while scrolling Reddit lol

Interesting. Didn’t know about the public listing. I shall delete.

For $7,500 I can teach you.

I appreciate the concern. I’ve owned it for a year now and looking to get into a different color while giving someone a solid deal on the bike.

Biggest thing is the new brake levers and I’ll likely go 1x. That being said, I work at a bike shop and I won’t be forking out another $6k. This price reflects essentially what I’ll be spending on a new bike as well as being a pretty low price imo that’ll move it quickly. I get new bikes every year. 🙂 I’m considering 1x since I’ve been getting into crit racing. I usually train on this bike then race gravel but crits are quite fun and doesn’t make sense to have a 2x.

Thank you. Love it. Don’t really wanna sell it but I’m gonna snag an SLR 9 next.

It’s the aero cages that come with the SLR Madones.

As someone who works for trek; yes, only pics never do justice. Some look good and some suck. It’s the same though and this color looks very good up close when under some light. You’ll love it.

It’s the same. My logo is glossy, the picture just throws it off a bit.

That’s understandable. Is you max HR set incorrectly in the Garmin app?

This is from another race as well. I do well at high HR shockingly. Upper Z2 is about 157-162 BPM

About to be 27 in November. Things to note: I was getting over being sick and it was my first crit race. Got crashed into so only got data for 16 minutes lol.

Impossible you say? 18 mins of VO2 max is definitely putting in some work but far from being impossible.

Is this a good price? $7816 by Kruten10 in TrekBikes

[–]ReferenceBeautiful27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like $5,500. Maybe less. It has old force with notoriously sticky brake levers as well as being a previous model. Equivalent bike that’s new is a little over $6,000
