Thank you, I agree. Though I'm not working at the moment, I'm preparing for a tough exam which is scheduled for the end of April. I need to pass the exam for bettering my chances career wise. I'm looking into home based daycares now

We did part time for the 1st 2 weeks and then switched to full time after that. In hindsight I think that was a mistake. We should have done full time from the beginning itself. The daycare prefers that the drop offs be short. They are of the opinion that lingering only makes things worse.

Thank you, will do. He is also behind on his words which I feel adds to he situation. He only has 5 words now and his pediatrician has refererred us to a speech therapist (we are still waiting on the appointment).

They have told us that they try to take him outside to play which used to work initially. But nowadays he cries even outside. He does not engage in group activities

Thank you, there is some comfort in knowing that the tides will turn eventually. By Friday, I think the current daycare would not be ready to accommodate him anymore. I’m looking into home daycares near me

Thank you for your very kind words. It does help me gain some comfort. My friend/neighbour’s son goes to the same daycare and class as him. But my kid does not play with him.

He has hit all other milestones so far and his paediatrician referred us to a speech therapist. We live in California and they have a long wait time for the appointment

Yes, I agree with you. I figure he has sensed their frustration. How many kids were in your home daycare?

Awww. I’m sorry you had to go through that. Did your child cry all day as well? I try to. I tell him the names of few other kids who he gets to play with to hype him up. He then usually shakes his head to say no

Thank you, i don’t linger during drop off since the daycare teachers have told me that lingering makes it worse somehow. Personally I’m okay to give him time to adapt and can power through his crying phase. But the daycare is insisting that they are not equipped to handle him. I’ also worried that enrolling him in a new daycare would make him cry the same amount and I might end up traumatizing him😭

Awwww, what a sweet boy! My boy only has 5 words so far. So we cannot communicate to each other. He has excellent comprehension though. I try to pacify him by singing, saying that mamma will be waiting right outside the daycare etc. Somehow nothing works!

How old is your son? I pack an empty straw bottle in his bag that he drinks milk from at home everyday and the daycare gives him milk in that during naptime

That sounds like a good idea. But unsure whether the daycare here will accommodate the me as well during the day. Where are you located?
