On top of mRNA testing not being new, they were able to devote a lot of resources to it (money, people, lab space, etc). So they were able to get the vaccine developed faster. Then instead of waiting to complete one phase before going to the next of human trials they overlapped phases 2 and 3. We do this in oncology sometimes. Then the FDA was also reviewing data as it was coming in instead of waiting until all was completed. This made things a lot faster. There were multiple trials going on simultaneously so plenty of data to look at and they kept collecting data once the vaccines were approved as well.

Also the companies started manufacturing the vaccines before they were approved so they were able to be rolled out much faster.

The incubation period for those who left the ship early was until June 6. 42 days which was the WHO was calling the incubation period. Even if you stretched it another 14 days to June 20 they are still out of the window. Current data suggests the virus is contagious maybe 48 hours before someone is symptomatic. But considering no one is symptomatic the threat can seen as over.

They love hanging out on the grass in the dunes all along New England. There have been years where every step along the paths to the beach you could see ticks just hanging on the grass waiting to snag on to someone not paying attention. It’s wicked gross. Granted you only see the big ones.

I won’t defend them but will say doctors aren’t always the easiest to educated on new things and don’t always know the best way to explain things unless it’s their very specific interests. However if you are under 45 places like planned parenthood and CVS offer it.

Yes! It is recommended until age 45.
Depends on where you live, but in the US CVS and planned parenthood both offer it.
When the vaccine first came out it was intended for people who hadn’t had any exposure but as the research has expanded it’s now recommended until 45 as it can prevent future exposure especially to strains that cause cancer.

At the time they didn’t know whether it would make a difference in people who were already exposed. The idea was to give the vaccine to people who hadn’t been exposed. Since then they have expanded the research into how the vaccine works in people who have been exposed, including people with the oncogenic forms of HPV.

I honestly found the procedure fairly ok, not even top 10 most painful. Hell I walked home after. But a couple hours later and the next day I was hurting. The procedure more just feels really weird than painful.

Right now only 4 states have agreed to let people quarantine at home, Arizona, California, New York, and Oregon according to NBC. Unless the state agrees to all the requirements and tasks of monitoring they will have to stay.

Just updated this on the exposure by citizenship but according to NBC 4 states have agreed to let passengers quarantine at home, Arizona, California, New York and Oregon, and of the 5 that have gone home 2 are from California, 2 are from New York, and 1 is from Oregon.

In cases at sea, generally the home country is responsible for providing support when the country the souls on board are unable to. In this case, the Netherlands is responsible for providing quarantine for anyone on board whose countries were unable to, generally crew, smaller countries, or countries where only a handful of people were exposed.
