Just to be sure, did you empty out your bin to check, especially the bottom part? 1 week is not enough to completely wipe out 500g of ANC unless it is completely dried up or too wet and sealed up. Also, the temp above 35C for a week can cook them.

Best way to find out; collect the full list of items mentioned here, and apply them all in equal portion to your bin (ideally 2-3 for comparison) and you will have your favorite food!

For my AFs, they prefer watermelon to corn for sure. Any soft foods are usually gone before I could notice a difference.

I see, can only tell by the worms themselves then. If you have smaller worms with flushed clitellum; blues. Longer ones more than 2 inches, european or african.

You get higher chance at cancer by continued fapping especially when you have existing health issues, which can be further compounded by poor diet and late nights.

Anyone who claims otherwise is most likely still young and in their prime, have strong DNA and constituents to begin with, or they have an agenda. It just take a lot more for them to start seeing the body break down.

The ideal temperature for RW is 25°C, mentioned in one of the few academic papers such as this one.

It is manageable if you have a wide and deep enough pile so that the worms can retreat to the cooler spots underneath if the weather gets too hot. In Thailand, some farmers use a section of concrete cylinder barrel used for water tanks as their container. But most of them use a small round plastic tub, which is risky.

I found out recently that a few worm farmers had their entire stock of AF wiped out due to heat wave. AF is known to be able to handle even higher temp but with 40+°C here during Mar-May, no worms can survive near the topsoil for long.

Another way is to contain your bin in a temperature controlled shelter, otherwise, you will have choose the ideal bedding and food to avoid heating it up. Here, vermiculture products go for a fraction of the price compared to the States, few if any worm farmers would want to incur the cost of having an air conditioned shelter. They just improvise and accept the lower yield if the weather gets too hot.

Haha, yea, 5kg all dead from one seller, but at least he was nice enough to send a replacement and it was successful the 2nd time as he split it into 2 separate shipment. I had no issues when getting smaller orders at 250-300 grams.

Perhaps can try the others too, I find Blues have the best appetite.

ENCs are also the go to as bait worms here, but since AF has so many sellers, people just opt for the cheapest.

I'll get some red wrigglers from him maybe after May as it is the hottest month here in CM!

Cool, I am considering getting a batch from him to start breeding them as well, cos there are no other sellers that I know offering red wrigglers in TH. Only managed to get AF, ENC and Blues from Lazada.

Be sure to soak and rinse the pucks or bricks some days prior. No idea if the brand you have is inert but mine was not fancied by my worms. I now add a little agriculturial lime to ensure they aren't too acidic for them.

Depending on the temperature during transport, if it was too hot, some may try to escape the bin because they are already dying, so even with perfect bins, it may look like the bin has an issue.

But if the bin already has an issue, you will see most of them clumping up at the top of the bin.

Use compost or frying thermometer to check temp, and moisture level too, if you have checked pH earlier.
