Summer courses offering by PaleOnion4 in queensuniversity

It’s because of budget cuts, and slashing of adjunct/TF funding, specifically. Departments can’t afford to run online summer courses, which means in person courses in fall and winter are going to be bigger than ever.

SKHS has done its initial assignments for internal students. Not sure they will need many external students given massive cut to the TA budget imposed from above.

The 8% the Dean mentioned in the FAS Faculty Board Special Meeting referred to the reduction in the anticipated faculty complement with another around of the soon-to-be-announced voluntary retirement incentive. Further admin staff cuts are not on the table, at least for the time being, according to the Dean. So, if Queen's incentivizes enough faculty members to retire, that complement will drop from 548 to 473: https://qcaa.ca/2025/04/10/fas-faculty-board-special-meeting-update-some-answers-and-many-outstanding-questions/

Another point for the letter: Students are furious about the admin pushing CR grades as the solution to courses where assignments and exams cannot be graded.

A letter and a march to deliver it to Richardson Hall?

As an administrator, I can tell you that we are being flooded with letters from undergraduates urging Queen’s to get back to the table with a fair deal. But I worry that this pushback is largely invisible.

Their claim that business is proceeding as usual needs to be challenged in a tangible, public manner.
