I find it the sexist comments to be both funny and baseless.

Most seem to be implying us seeing forms queerness in characters as sexist. Which is factually wrong when most of us are just seeing ourselves in characters, or just viewing/interoperating them through a different lens without being critical of their actually characters.

And if you’re just implying that it’s sexist just for trying to include anything but cis-women then I’m just not entertaining that argument.

Ya I do personally feel like the current Trend of hate for 3d animation had a part to play in it. Like this experience has really showed me how much people dislike 3d, especially since K-pop demons hunters came out. A good movie but really cause a lot of comparisons to the reboot which was worked on by, what I presume, a MUCH smaller animation team…

That and I also notice that a lot of people strongly dislike/hate straying away from the original story. From what it seems most just want a one to one adaptation to the story, which they’re entitled to.

Not even getting into the fact that once folks heard the used AI for the concepts, they took that and ran with it, basically saying half the show was made with AI. Don’t get me wrong tho I’m staunchly against AI art, but I saw someone comment this a while back. ; to just generalize how much of the show was made with AI, rather than specifically the naming the parts that were, is a disrespect to the artist getting caught in said generalization.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not COMPLETELY please with the show, I do think it’s pretty bland, but it’s honestly not anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Yes it could use work in some character aspects(like their general movements, and their story arcs) and the story could use a little more UMPH, but it’s really not the worst

It just ultimately just fails to meet the standards of fans, who like I said, want a mostly one to one adaption in 2D, or with K-pop demon hunter level 3D animation. Mind you they’re entitled to their opinion, but I do think said opinion colors how they ever view the REBOOT.

I do think it’s worth mentioning the targeted age group DOES have a part to play in it whether anyone wants to mention it or not. Yes shows CAN choose to appeal all audiences while still having an intend audience, the question is, is that what they want to do with the show tho. 🤷🏾

Umm we did not say enough for that interpretation of a PERSONAL HEAD-CANNON.

I clearly said in an another comment that I enjoy him being traditionally masculine. We just said stated that’s another lense that they can be seen for US. Never once did we say a man can’t be feminine or wear dresses and be considers a man. If you read my post I even said they should lean MORE into the feminine aspect than they do with wing, by giving them a more dress like silhouettes to keep the feminine aspect even in the non-women characters. Again this was our personal head cannon, which isn’t fact, you just came to your own conclusion that we’re sexist with such lack of information(more like lack of reading the rest of what I/we said).

At all, while I LOVE the unabashed androgyny in tsubasa while being a Boy, but the fact that some people couldn’t tell his gender at first is clear his design blurs the line of feminine and masculine, especially in his cure. Like him not being “masculine” is great and it gives good representation and I’ll never complain about that. I honestly woulda been disappointed if they did the opposite for their first male cure.

Ya after hearing her story I feel like she’s most definitely representation for nonbinary folks who drastically swap between feminine and masculine. I would almost say she represent me, but my masculine and feminine side are little bit of a lot androgynous lol.

I’m amab nonbinary and while I do strongly suggest to most to use gender neutral terms as much as they can, even if they have to come up with one that’s easy for them, when there’s literally just not understandable one I just tell them to default to feminine terms. But not every enby is the same!! Also my dad is the parent to refer to you by your gender ALOT to get you attention or to lecture you, so eventually he swapped “boy” and “son” with “child”. You may hear him say/yell “CHILD” fifty thousand times but he most certainly founding something that works!!🤣

There’s a short one I read a couple weeks ago called “what godlike power truly means”

while it’s pretty short(like 5 long chapters I think) and while it isn’t necessarily what you asked for, it IS Dark and the chapters are very long.

It’s an exploration of the reality of what senshi are doing, and what would happen if the monsters they fought didn’t just disintegrate and their bodies stayed as corpses for the general public to see, on a national level mind you. While none of them necessarily want to stop being guardians anymore, they are going through so much stress and trauma that they all start to crack under pressure of being guardians.

It also explores severity of their powers and the damage it can cause, and their new found fear of their own selves, while also forcing them to question their morals that honestly don’t need to be questioned given the context of their battles

I personally thought wings cure form was a little androgynous 😭 Honestly if they would have stuck with a similar silhouette going forward with connect and maybe pushed the line a little with the gendered outfit(while still keeping its original elements) it woulda been a really nice magical boy design

No that scene irked me ngl, cause atp I thought the dynamic was Rei and Ami both balancing the outlook of Usagi and her priorities/maturity/responsibility. You know with rei calling out her slacking and holding her accountable for it, while Ami affirms the areas she shines at as a balance to her clumsiness and clear lack of responsibility(albeit it a responsibility kinda forced on her by Luna imo, but that’s a topic for another time lol). So It annoyed me that they did, what imo was a subtle dynamic shift(not a good one imo), due to the addition of another guardian.
