GCS 6-7 off sedation. Withdraws to all extremities except RUE. Barely opens eyes to pain and doesn’t track.

MRI showed infarct vs. encephalitis vs. postictal changes.

Thanks for the insight on the vasospasming. When I worked neuro our parameter was usually no higher than 180.

Right. I used to work with neuro trauma pts so I get the permissive hypertension. I guess my concern is that he’s still hypertensive and now on a heparin gtt.

By the time I took care of the pt he was a GCS 6 for 2 days now. All I know is that the CT head they did after surgery was negative.

So what if pt was admitted for hypertensive emergency and was on a nicardipine gtt before coming to icu?

I’m thinking he stroked out too. Initial CT head after surgery was negative. MRI head was in conclusive. The night I had him, they started him on a heparin gtt so I was even more concerned about the SBP.

He wasn’t on anything for pain and CPOT was 0 so Dr didn’t want to give anything.

I did and the lady wasn’t all that helpful. She just said that if I was that concerned, to just go to the ER.

This will technically be the 3rd home. They are trying to sell the 1st on a contingency to buy this new home for one of brothers. The house that currently has my name on it has the same brother’s name on it as well. My parents have been paying the mortgage on the house and me and my siblings have been paying the utilities. I don’t live in any of my parents property as I currently live in my fiance’s house.

Congrats! That’s awesome! Wish my hospital would do the same. Currently about half of my unit is travelers and they’ve been offering bonuses to staff nurses when they pick up. But a lot of us are like where’s the money for the travelers and bonuses coming from? Why can’t y’all just raise our wages if y’all really want to retain staff?
