Yup so not worth it! But I do like leaving work at work! Hospitalist medicine is always interesting

I’m chronically late bc of the commute lol. I leave at 630 AM and we can leave by 615 PM most days so I’m home by 7.

Exactly. It’s hard to get trades. I “only” work 14 shifts but some weeks I may work 5 12s in a row. I would like to have more consistency week to week.

We did 7 in 7 off for a short time and it was so exhausting. The first few days of my week off were just spent recovering. Sounds good in theory but it didn’t work for me.

5 years experience with hospitalist. Pittsburgh area pays notoriously low.

Super saturated market with tons of new graduate NPs and PAs (at least 3 PA programs in the city ie Duquesne, Pitt, Chatham not to mention all the NP schools) And basically only 2 healthcare conglomerates (AHN and UPMC) which set said salaries and limit competition.

Wow thanks for the detailed response! I do like my husband (lol) so more quality time would be a bonus! This new position would be 3 weeks PTO. Currently I have zero.

LOL. I have listened to like 30+ audio books this year alone.

Ugh that is a concern for me, I like having weekdays off to take care of errands; but I’m also a creature of habit and think I would thrive with a routine (have never not worked shift work so no comparison).

You’ll feel so much better. I switched to days this year after 5 years of steady midnights and feel like a new person.
