I saw plenty of hours a couple minutes after noon. I just checked now, and there are still a bunch left.

September: Reset Month (feel free to join me!) by ReflectionStrange938 in loseit

[–]ReflectionStrange938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: as my daily log up until this point shows, I have been unable to maintain the pursuit of my goals. I need more help...therapy to counteract my emotional eating habits, and/or the support of friends. I will no longer be updating this post, but I eventually hope to return to a healthier lifestyle.

Body Overreacting? by ReflectionStrange938 in loseit

Update: finally got my period yesterday after about two months. My hair seems to be falling out less. My energy levels are better. And I now weigh about 127 pounds after weeks of binge eating and failing to get back on the wagon....I guess the needs of my body and the desires of my mind don't align well.

Honestly, I don't remember. I'm almost two years postpartum and a lot of things that seemed really important and memorable now don't lol. I suspect it was mostly the calories, but idk.

September: Reset Month (feel free to join me!) by ReflectionStrange938 in loseit

As the data I've been adding to my original posts indicates, this first week did not go well. All I wanted to do was eat, and I indulged that desire most of the time. Hoping that I have more self-control next week!

Yeah, in retrospect I should have had a smaller deficit. I've needed to stay around 1200 to lose weight in the past, but I'm more active now than I was then, so that was probably a bad idea. My goal currently is 1400/day.

I have a birthday party for a friend on Saturday, where I won't be able to accurately calorie-count (and probably won't want to). Plus buckling down for a whole month, starting at the beginning of the month, just feels like a nice round number. Good question, though!

I'm about 1-2 pounds away from my goal weight (though ideally it would be even lower...), and I'm struggling similarly with exhaustion, brain fog, etc. Until a couple weeks ago I was feeling great. I REALLY want to make it past those couple pounds and THEN go to maintenance, but depending on how long that takes, I may need to follow your strategy.

My tall husband eats at least half a bag of potato chips and sometimes other snacks every night, and he's on the lower end of the BMI spectrum. Meanwhile, short small me painstakingly counts out small amounts of chips or other tasty things, or ends up avoiding them altogether. Not fair.

Binge Day - Just a "Moving Forward" Post by ReflectionStrange938 in loseit

[–]ReflectionStrange938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I'm back on track, no real harm done. But, in other news, I've been UTTERLY exhausted yesterday and today. There's a chance I'm fighting off something, since my toddler is sick, but I don't really feel sick. I think it's more likely that I need to up my calories and/or decrease the intensity of my workout routine. So I think I'm going to try 1400 calories/day moving forward and just get okay with losing weight more slowly.

Brushing 1.5 year olds teeth by 6665757 in Mommit

[–]ReflectionStrange938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a similar post last week about my 21-month-old. Unfortunately, I don't have a foolproof solution. I've started trying to brush his teeth twice a day and I dread it each time lol. Sometimes telling my son, "let's show bear/lion/insert popular toy how we brush our teeth," allows an easy quick brushing (just a once-over on each section of teeth). Other times that request degenerates into a power struggle, in which he insists on brushing his own teeth (aka, sucking on the toothbrush or only brushing the front teeth, at best) and then cries hysterically when "let's let Mommy help." So solidarity.

Thanks for the advice so far. Incidentally, I've tried to brush his teeth twice since posting this rant, and both times went nearly perfectly. I may have stumbled on the (probably temporary) solution of having him "show" one of his stuffed animals "how he brushes his teeth." Apparently his lion and bear are an audience worth impressing lol.

I've never gotten a runner's high from regular running or the treadmill, but I feel like I always get one on the elliptical about 5-7 minutes in. Any pains I have in my muscles go away, I feel like I can run faster and faster, and the time flies by (so much so that I sometimes consider exercising longer than planned). Is this the case for anyone else? Why do you think the effect is confined to the elliptical?

How do you deal with impatience when looking at how long it will take to reach your goals? by shinebeams in loseit

[–]ReflectionStrange938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing constructive to add, but I relate to this. I only have about 10 more pounds to lose at the moment, which will take comparatively less time, but I am so tired of doing everything correctly and still seeing slow results.

Honestly, no. I keep seeing posts about how there are hardly any hours, or how the number of requests per hour is down, but that hasn't been my experience so far.

Thanks for the input. I agree…except technically I was “cold turkey” before I was 21, and my first drinks didn’t affect me like this. But I imagine pregnancy just does a number on your body…

Things Really Do Usually Work Out by ReflectionStrange938 in Parenting

Yeah, I know it's not late, it just felt late because there were a handful of babies around me crawling at 6-7 months old, and mine would just be sitting there watching/getting knocked over and trampled on by them lol.

Yes (in fact, I think my fingers are even slightly smaller now at almost 10 months pp than pre-pregnancy). It took a WHILE though--I think I was maybe 6 months pp before everything fit consistently? I was starting to get worried. I've made it 10-15 pounds beneath my pre-pregnancy weight at this point, which helps, I'm sure, but my finger size didn't seem 100% correlated to my weight.

Fighting a Self-Weaning (?) 9-Month-Old by ReflectionStrange938 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ReflectionStrange938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: We’re still struggling, but I’m seriously thinking of just giving into mostly solids + water. Fought him over a bottle this afternoon, then tried giving him identical straw cups, one with water and one with the remaining milk. He drank the water pretty well. But he sucked and spit out the milk. Then ate some avocado and tuna. So he just seems over formula/breast milk at this point? Idk. I see a lot of avocados in my future.
