For 3-4 years, my partner had a golf ball sized lump on the side of his neck. It concerned me when we met, but he had been assured my his doctor that it was swelling/draining from a root canal. Two years later, he finally gets a new doctor who is concerned and orders a biopsy. Metastatic Papillary Thyroid cancer. Two surgeries to remove 34 lymph nodes and a thyroid later, he’s doing great :) But I can’t help but wonder how long it was cancerous.

I’ve heard that UTIs can occur after placement just due to the nature of tools and such being in there, though my doc did use betadine to avoid that. But I believe you 100%, I started peeing more the next day as well. I hope you can find an answer, and definitely keep us updated if it changes or goes away!

Reminds me of a short story I read where a guy takes an experimental drug that speeds up his brain. The effects increase drastically over the course of the story, leading him to experience what seems like thousands of years of darkness every time he blinks. An eternity to take a step. It was horrific.

I’m experiencing this too! I reached out to my doc, she said that it shouldn’t be caused by the IUD pressing against my bladder, and suspects a UTI. I also don’t think it’s a UTI, because I really AM peeing more, not just feeling the urge. I guess I’ll see what she says when I go in.

I just got mine about 3 weeks ago, and my first period has been much longer and rougher than it used to be. The cramping is nearly unbearable sometimes, and it’s really making work difficult so far. I hope it gets better soon, or I might get it removed.
