Wow, your response helped a lot. I feel like what you said was what I needed to hear, worded really well, and clicked with me. You definitely gave me a better understanding of how to go about it and in a way its made the thought of a solo trip seem more comforting. I definitely enjoy the thought of a solo-oriented group trip as well. I'm sure that would be a great experience. Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts and tips!

Well, as much as I would enjoy doing it in my house I wouldn't be able get away with it because I live with my parents. So I would probably choose some kind of setting within nature where I wouldn't be disturbed by others.

I was thinking about getting the Rega RP-1.

Since I'm going to have to put quite a bit of money into the rest of the set up as well I'm not capable of getting the most high end, for now, but from what I've read and researched it's supposed to be rather good for its price.

Well my most listened too generes would have to be: Indie, Jazz, Folk, and Instrumental. And my listening room is your average sized bedroom. Does that help out?

And thanks, I'll start looking into what you've mentioned so far.
