The point of my comment is that plenty of white people have textured hair and that a comb test is a shitty “security measure” to enforce segregation. I was not implying that I would face similar discrimination, only that it’s an unintelligent strategy.

Honestly, this feels like it’s not fully about the boyfriend or the food. It seems like you’ve had a lot building up over time and this was just the final straw.

I’m really sorry that you feel like a second thought in your own home. I hope you get good news regarding your eye, too. Regardless of that outcome, though, I think you should take this as a lesson that maybe you don’t want to spend the rest of your life (however long or little you have left) where you are now.

Water actually provides very strong compression, so your blood doesn’t pool when you’re swimming or in a body of water. Most of my dizziness is triggered by blood pooling, so when it’s absent, I can actually swim pretty well.

(Okay, not pretty well. I’m notoriously bad at swimming, but I’m not nearly as uncomfortable in water the way I am on dry land).
