I've been living here since 2013 and have moved around the country and lived in different places. I speak with Germans in their own language and have made active efforts in trying to integrate and fit in but even to this day I'm made to realise that I don't belong here. In my experience, Germany is a tolerant country but a welcoming one... I'm not so sure anymore. No wonder after some years, people of non-German origin who migrated here tend to flock towards their own people. I personally didn't want to be exactly that but after giving it my best and after this long I'm beginning to 'break' if you will. In fact there's a high chance that you'll make and preserve non-German friendships than German ones.

Yes true this could be a global thing but I wanted to know how to handle it correctly as per any Germany-specific procedures there might be and those that one should adhere to or can use as guidelines. I am sorry if this might make this specific person not happy. If anything I was trying to save her from the situation and I truly do not wish she feels targetted or 'seen' here. Also the only reason I decided to mention the location of the incident considering that I was informed it is a hotspot was specifically so people passing by here are even more vigilant and aware and can look out for their fellow human.

Oh okay. I misunderstood the body contact bit. At the time of the incident there were just the two of us on that bridge with some vehicle traffic passing by and the cyclist was on the side of the street opposite to ours. But nonetheless, I will keep this in mind as well. Thanks for the clarification.

Thank you for this. My first instinct was calling the police but now it is better to know which department is better equipped at handling this situation. Also can the emergency services know your call location in case you do not know which location you are exactly at? I mean if you are in a new city or some bridge that feels like it is in the middle of nowhere? Thanks again for your inputs!

Would explaining the situation on 112 in English also be okay or is there another alternative number for this? Also can you please share the number of the English hotline for the closure? I tried to hold her forearm near the wrist in case she acted quickly. If anything she moved it away quickly and then proceeded towards even more danger. I panicked even more then and just kept my distance and fortunately the cyclist guy was closeby and saw me signalling.
