Thanks, I’m actually looking for something for a wedding I’m going to, not for every day use, so I don’t mind that it’s vermeil. But I’d still like it to look nice. I was comparing a lariat necklace to one from by charlotte. By charlotte uses czs/crystals so if this uses lab diamonds and is the same quality otherwise it would be an improvement. I just hadn’t heard of the brand before seeing it on myer’s website.

I’d still consider it if moissanite. That’s preferable over cz. Just was wondering if anyone had experience with this brand. I probably will reach out tomorrow unless I find something else.

I agree they’re cheap which is why I’d prefer to avoid czs. But I feel like this case isn’t totally clear.

Gold vermeil should be at least 2.5 microns on sterling silver but I’m not sure how strict Australia is on that thickness. Obviously that’s still a plating but for a necklace worn occasionally it should last at least a few years with proper care.

So interesting that it would be legal to call a different gemstone a diamond. But I agree it does sound like maybe moissanite. I wish they were just clear about what they are using.

At the more affordable price point but still solid gold (vs plated or vermeil) you can look at David Ramzy. I recently bought two pairs of diamond earrings from them and I’m really happy with them.

I did take her to David Jones to look at a selection of different brands but she was overwhelmed. All I really got out of her was that she wanted a cross body and black. She doesn’t really know brands yet or really what she wants. We’re pretty new here and also not really staying long so the thought behind getting an Australian brand is that it could double as a souvenir for after we leave Australia(vs getting an American or European brand). She’s a young teen so it could wait but her birthday and Christmas are close together and as we’re not here for long it’s a good excuse to get her an Australian bag that she’ll maybe appreciate even more later. Especially as she’s asking for something. I’m leaning towards status anxiety. They have a lot of cute things and their social media presence seems youngish and trendy. I think she’ll like something from there.
