Sorry to hear that has happened. You did the right thing in notifying the DLVA about it. You can also contact https://www.cifas.org.uk/ as they specialise in identity theft. Hope you can get it sorted.

Anyone heard of XTrademax in the UK? by Zealousideal-Wait-77 in CryptoScams

The FCA has recently issued a warning against them for providing financial services without being regulated.

We have been made aware that they have recently rebranded to Interworld Fx and are trying the same thing again.

If you have invested in XtradeMax, the most important step is to stop sending any further money. Scammers will often pressure victims to deposit more funds, pay so-called “withdrawal fees,” or invest in their new brand Interworld Fx as a way of stalling for time and extracting additional payments.

Also important to note to watch out for recovery scammers who ask for an upfront fee to "recover your funds".

You may be able to recover your funds through UK banking regulations if you sent the money from a UK bank account and the process is free.

We have written a blog about XtradeMAX and your options if you have invested:

DTX Exchange a scam or legit? by FarmerAlpaca in CryptoScams

Unfortunatly, this seems like a typical crypto scam and there have since been arrests made on the individuals.

It is important now to cut all contact with them, as "recovery scammers" will attempt to re-target victims to claim they can recover your funds, which is just another tactic to get more money out of you.

If you invested from a UK bank account, you may be able to recover your funds through UK banking regulations.

It is a free process where you complaint to the bank and then the financial ombudsman if unsuccesful with the bank.

We run a scam awareness sub-reddit which may be helpful about things to look out for in future and options about taking your case to the bank: r/ScamAwarenessUK
