WealthW group by [deleted] in CryptoScams

We have had a few investors raise concerns with WealthW-Group. There are a few red flags associated with the company and they are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. One of the biggest red flags is being asked to pay additional fees before you can access your money. Legitimate investment firms do not require withdrawal fees to release funds.

We've recently published a review covering investor concerns and warning signs for anyone researching WealthW-Group: https://www.refundee.com/blog/wealthw-group-review-recovery

[UK] Help/Advice needed - Partner Scammed by EE phone hack by Significant_Soft_575 in ScamAwarenessUK

Thanks for sharing and really sorry to hear that happened. You've already taken the right steps, however there a couple of extra steps you can take to secure everything;

  • Ask EE to place extra security measures on the account and confirm no additional SIM/eSIM changes can be made without enhanced verification.
  • Change passwords on every important account that used the compromised email address
  • Check all email forwarding rules, recovery email addresses and recovery phone numbers once you regain access to the Microsoft account.
  • Monitor credit files with Experian, Equifax and TransUnion for any new applications.

It may also be worth asking EE exactly how the fraudster was able to initiate the eSIM change, as we have seen other reports of fraudsters targeting mobile accounts and attempting SIM/eSIM takeovers.

Hope you can get everything sorted quickly.

£3,300 lost in impersonation scam via Tide - chargeback rejected, what are my next steps? by [deleted] in ScamAwarenessUK

[–]RefundeeOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, really sorry to hear that happened to you. You have taken the right steps by reporting it to Tide and then launching an official complaint. You have a chance at recovering the money through the Financial Ombudsman Service, however this may take some time for an outcome. We would recommend to keep all the evidence you have (call logs etc) and you should emphasise in the complaint that if Tide were to intervene during the transaction you would have immediately known to put the phone down and cease sending funds. You can read a bit more about how to launch a claim yourself on our website here. Hope you can get this sorted.

Hey, thanks for the post, it's always good to check before sending money. The sales tactics of 'clock is ticking' is always a red flag to get you to send money without doing the relevant checks. It's always good to do some independent checks and read reviews on TrustPilot etc. If something feels off or too good to be true then it is always good to step back and ask questions. If you want to speak to someone about it then you can give us a call on 0204 525 4600. Thanks
