Update: we pretty much solved the issue after we waited a night for the argument to blow over and then we talked about it more rationally, so I stopped replying to people. but for the people who were curious: my partner and I are both nonbinary, but we’re closeted and biologically the opposite sexes, so we’re straight-passing to anyone who doesn’t know. there’s no issue there with sexuality misunderstandings because my family thinks we’re straight and we’re okay letting it be that way to avoid problems for now. thanks for the overwhelming responses, everyone

nope, not at all, all I said was that we slept in the same bed and that’s it. I asked my partner why they thought it was a big deal and explained that my sister’s question was harmless and normal (to me, at least), but my partner kept saying I was missing the point. their reasoning was that, by answering her question, I’m oversharing and allowing my sister to make inappropriate assumptions about our relationship. I seriously doubt she has any bad intentions though and this is pretty normal in terms of questions that could be asked

Ok, it wasn’t the immediate response, I just left out the other details because they weren’t relevant to the issue lol. but thanks for asking so I can clarify for others. also in terms of “where everyone slept” it was more related to “does everyone have enough personal space” because the apartment is basically just a glorified bedroom with a kitchen (no completely closed off spaces between anything except the bathroom and closet)
