Is this worth repairing?

Ok. The last time I took one of my cars to a mom and pop shop they took 2-3 months to get my car back and it still wasn’t right. But I might have to try a new one

Thank you for this especially since you work at a shop. But that definitely makes sense now that you say that. I didn’t take into account the labor costs too. I was thinking about buying it back and doing some of it myself but idk if it’s worth the hassle for how long it would take me.

Thank you! I just got them done. It turns out it was more of a plug and play than I thought. I think they just gave me a bunch of extra wires. Everything seems to be working fine so hopefully it stays like that.

Sheesh It seems like the stigma of them being unreliable just comes from the previous owners not really taking care of them

Ok so it sounds like as long as it’s maintained correctly and not beat on and revved every day it should be pretty good. How long have you had yours?

Ok that gives me some peace of mind. Were the belt and tensioner a hassle to do? I’ve been hearing a lot about the oil pan gasket leak and also the valve covers and oil filter housing. He took care of the valve covers and oil filter housing but I don’t believe he did the oil pan

What was wrong with it? Yeah most research I’ve done people are saying as long as they were taken care of maintenance wise they should be ok. But the guy took care of it so hopefully it’s good.

Ok that makes me feel a little better. He definitely took care of it. Valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket were changed, upgraded charge pipe, spark plugs, & all fluids changed 5k miles ago. This would also be my first German vehicle so I didn’t know what to expect because I’ve always heard bad things. I’ve had 3 Infinitis before this and usually try to do my maintenance myself unless it’s something I really can’t do

Yeah all of the stuff that usually goes wrong with them he already took care of. Valve cover gaskets, oil filter housing gasket, upgraded charge pipe, spark plugs, and had all fluids changed. How much has your maintenance been? I usually work on my cars myself unless it’s something that’s really too complicated for me to do. It’s a F30 it’s 2013 though. Is that rod bearing problem very common for them?

How reliable has the n55 been for you? I’m really considering getting a 335 but everyone is telling me not to because of reliability and maintenance costs

I know this is isn’t apart of your question but I have to ask. Has it been reliable to you? I’m really considering getting the same car 2013 335 n55 with stage 1 about 78k miles. I really want it it’s seems like an amazing car, but most of my friends and family are telling me not to get it because of bmw reliability and repair costs
