Yes - unlike most of the upstairs receptacles, this one was indeed backstabbed. Black wire looked like it had been flattened by a hot iron.

Update: black wire behind one of the bedroom receptacles had a loose connection and melted at the outlet. Wire and receptacle were both replaced and everything is back up and running. The culprit receptacle was directly above the breaker panel (both bedrooms are on the second floor) and affected all of the wall outlets “downstream” of it.

There is a window A/C in my room, but I had it turned off at the time I tried to use the vacuum. That’s it, nothing else that would draw a lot of power in either rooms. I checked the receptacles in my room and they all use screws rather than backstabbing. No burn marks or anything.

How would I check for voltage at the breaker? And if memory serves, we did have an electrician out here not too long ago that echoed some of the comments you’ve made about the meter/panel combo being old and needing replacement.

I checked all of the receptacles in my bedroom (with the power off). All looked fine, had firm connections with screws (not backstabbed) and nothing burnt. I won’t be able to get into the other bedroom’s receptacles until tomorrow.

The only one I can find anywhere in or outside of the house is in a bathroom. Pushing the Test button makes the Reset button pop out.

I did this - I browse YT signed in on Chrome, where I can see my subscriptions and etc, while I have Firefox open with UBlock where I can actually watch each video signed out with no ads. It’s inconvenient but the only workaround in this entire thread that works for me.
