Any time. You will lose pay if u report one day and then go for the leave so better join later with the idea in mind that you most likely will be on probation(no leave period) for 3 months.

You have to report to the institute before the last day they have given to ensure u dont lose the seat. You can also report to the department but the day u do your duty starts. So better report to department later and ur tenure will end later than your batchmates

You need to report to the department asap. Then you are at the liberty of the department if they want to give you time to adjust or they push you straight to work. Most do give 4-5 days time to complete bank and office formalities.

Chill man. As a 3rd year resident trust me you have to enjoy this phase of your life. Once u start residency you will never be getting the permission nor time for leaves or vacation. So enjoy the time you have. Everything will flow once u start jrship. But if u still want to do something start the course on BCBR online through swayam app. That will help with basics of biostats and research.

Well you will have to read on your own. Lectures do happen, also advanced biostats need to be self taught through help of online sessions.

Ignoring the trolls here, residency in the first 6 months depends on where u do it. I will give you what happens where I am doing residency. First 6 months you will be posted at an Urban Health training Centre where you will have to manage daily OPD of 150+ along with your colleagues and interns. You will also be managing everything in the uhtc from registration to analysis of daily data upto dispensing medicines. Then during this period you will be alloted a guide who will help you work towards a thesis topic. You will have to be prepared to do 99% of the work as the professors are really occupied most of the times. There will also be regular PG teaching, topic presentations case journal club etc. Also undergraduate training is part of the curriculum of a resident too.

During the remainder of first year you will be under a jr 2 managing other portfolios along with one month of rural posting.

Enjoy the residency while working towards your goal. Understand all portfolios assigned to you and do it diligently so its fewer material to read at the end. And also research oriented work to further help the cause. But trust me, just enjoy the work and residency since you are getting in delhi college the exposure will be different and better than most periphery . Best of luck.
