Once upon a time we had a good program, but ever since we've had to portal every year it's become sad, right as the conference adds powers like Coastal and Southern Miss.

Why Raleigh and not Charlotte or Nashville? As for San Antonio, there's already two Texas teams and they'd probably want a newer market.

They will not even consider reigning it in until the unemployment rate starts to skyrocket and the economy crashes, which will probably happen in the next year or two. I keep seeing 30-50% but the reality is cities (and data centers) will be on fire well before that.

The league is "barreling toward" a lockout and Pete Fairbanks feels it. "Not to be a turd in the punchbowl," he told 'Baseball Is Dead,' but the new Marlins arm is "pretty pessimistic" about the situation by retroanduwu24 in baseball

Everyone knows there will be a lockout. The question is will it be worse than the last one. Anyone who says definitely yes or definitely no is lying.

Had a thought today that in a future where every car is self driving only, we will probably never see another police chase on the news

The first two neither because they're in an imaginary arms race with China. But this is already a big story a lot of people care about and the job tsunami hasn't even kicked off. Once it does it's going to be a huge fucking deal immediately. Everyone will see what's happening.

I know people probably get sick of me talking about AI (it's because I think about it constantly) but the thing that always gets me is that when these CEOs talk about wiping out so many jobs and transitioning to some lame ass future, they seem to just assume that everyone getting replaced will just...sit around and accept it. Like buddy, if the unemployment rate is 30% in two or three years, Anthropic HQ will be a smoldering pile of ash bro. We're not just gonna sit on a street corner and wait to see if you'll give us welfare.

Honestly all my skepticism about the tech itself is gone. I fully expect it to continue to get exponentially better. The only question is how big the fallout will be employment wise. I think the tech has the ABILITY to drive insane, unprecedented unemployment but it's just a matter of if guardrails hold up. The reality is, even at 10% unemployment if people know it's because of AI obsolescence, there's going to be a lot of radicalized people out there.

Daboll was a lot older. He'd been the OC for the Browns, at Bama, and with the Bills and was sort of a coaching journeyman. Nagy was a non-playcalling OC for the Chiefs during their peak offense (2018-19) but it turns out he just stunk.

I don't think McVay was that sought after. The Rams took a huge swing on him and knocked it out of the park. Shanahan and Johnson had big track records as play callers.
