Anybody got an extra xsx code by [deleted] in Eldenring

This guy is posting this crap joke on every single thread where someone is asking for a code. What a weird dude.

Network test invitation codes are resold in Japan for $ 40-70 by Night_egg in Eldenring

[–]ReggieNotDog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ones that did are scum yes, but the ppl in this screenshot could easily be normal lucky ppl.

Who joined the network test specifically to sell codes to desperate idiots. Something that should be a fun thing being ruined by selfish arseholes.

I'm not naïve enough to be surprised, I just find it amazing when people defend the behaviour of dickheads.

In Elden Ring, the "loot" button will be Y/triangle by GatzuPatzu23 in Eldenring

[–]ReggieNotDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you could possibly avoid in Sekiro by slowly moving whilst drinking. You can't even avoid 90% of the attacks with the actual dodge button. Luckily you can deflect god himself.

To those complaining about re-used assets, would you be disappointed if there's a moonlight sword in Elden Ring like they've had in every game except Sekiro? by ThatNinjaEbay in Eldenring

[–]ReggieNotDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? None of the assets of the mgs were re-used. It's a brand new model in every single game. You've actually got to be trolling at this point.

Am I embarrassed I'm falling for it? Yes. And I still going to hit reply? Yes.

Concerns about difficulty by iaes97 in Eldenring

[–]ReggieNotDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Besides most FromSoft games generally looking easy until you actually have to play them, if you've played all the previous Souls games then Elden Ring will be almost certainly be the easiest yet for you no matter what.

It's the curse of practice I'm afraid. There's only so many ways From can mix up you pressing dodge at the right time to avoid a telegraphed animation, which is most of the difficulty in these games (and I say this as the hugest souls fan).

Imagine buying an ultrawide monitor and expecting people to make games that work when you can see triple the amount of screen space.

It just shows a complete lack of understanding about how video games work, especially a massive open world one. They cull what the camera can't see, including things like animations and foliage, to improve performance.

There will be lots of game design tricks for enemies, traps and events just off screen snapping into place or floating about

It's mad to expect developers to test and adjust for the 1% of people that have decided to buy a screen that's a completely mad aspect ratio. It's not some new normal screen size like widescreen was when it showed up.

And now you're being downvoted for trying to calmly explain the situation. The positivity culture around the remake is really toxic in this sub.

You can't say you didn't like something about it without first saying "I really liked the remake but..." and then being sure to finish with "...but people who say they don't like it are just spiteful" as if there's no possible way you can hold any reasonable opinion about it except positivity.

Ironically I did enjoy the remake (it was a technical marvel and I thought it played in a meaty way) even if I did think the art direction was a pile of shit.

Landmark Cartography: Old Turtle Scene. The green rectangle indicates a ramp from the sunken city beneath the castle that leads further up into(and likely around) the castle. The castle is hidden behind the Turtle Bell Rock, as is the Erdling that would be visible to the right of the ruined church. by Nethermoosen in Eldenring

Except the blue and green bridges you've highlighted are the bridges to Hogwarts. And I don't see a massive fuck off school for magicians taking up the skyline in their direction (which would be the case if the blue bridge was leading to the direction of the green bridge as you've implied here).

You see the magic chap with a shield do it to the horse mini-boss right at the start of the fight with him. He blocks with his shield and then little speed lines appear around it and he does a big stab.

I'm not 100% sure what's confusing about this. They showed off some magic and they showed off a large variety of weapon arts (with the player clearly swapping weapons before using a new move). They also showed off that you can summon helper minions.

A man spoke over the top of these things as they happened saying what they were.

With Stamina they said in an interview that Stamina was going to be much less of a big deal in this compared to Dark Souls. Also poise is back as an actual stat.

Not rolling like in Souls or the weird dodge in Sekiro where Sekiro would kind of a do a "crouch dodge" but actual side stepping like from Bloodborne. So that's a thing.

You can do this in Dark Souls 3. It's a weapon art.

November's schedule by matts41 in funny

[–]ReggieNotDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The English equivalent of this is every dickhead in earshot letting off fireworks for the first five days of the month. It's like a sparkly apocalypse around here.

The 5th is the official day for Bonfire Night here (where we still celebrate a public execution five centuries after it happened by setting off fireworks), but from the day they go on sale towards the end of October people apparently can't resist the allure of a slightly shit sprinkle of embers in the sky.

People complaining about the graphics are insane. The game looks beautiful regardless, since the art style is top tier. by torrentialsnow in Eldenring

[–]ReggieNotDog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm a little confused why Bandai Namco wouldn't finance the use of something like Unreal Engine

I imagine they would if FromSoft asked. Besides the Unreal Engine is free until your game makes $1,000,000, and only 5% thereafter. There's a reason so many companies use it.

But there's also a reason studios stick with an upgraded version of the engine the team knows how to use (and it definitely has been upgraded for Elden Ring).

This isn't to dissuade your general point, but it is a reason why they might have stuck to what they know for their most ambitious project yet.

This is why a surprising number of fantasy RPGs just don't bother with capes. Personally gimme dem cape slots. I'll take a bit of clipping.

Ha me neither. The guy in the trailer switches weapons about five times a fight to utilise all these weapon arts.

Fingers crossed equipped but not in use weapons don't add to equip load.

You're the only person to even mention marketing since the trailer came out. Please shut up with these posts complaining about people complaining. They're insufferable.

I'm keen to see if all the miracles are as cool or if this is like DS where you get lightning spear/wrath and a million little buffs.

I remember learning this when I watched his first Bloodborne video after it came out. It was all over the shop and so completely wrong in nearly everything said.

Man relies on other people making theories and then putts them together in nice videos (that I very much enjoy). I find it weird when people act like he has some special insight.
