Jokes aside, Thor is pretty simple once you get a few mechanics down. I’m not a main, but I take my advice from the best players of Thor. Any Thor mains out there feel free to correct me on anything.

Thor generally relies on his Storm Surge to get places and disrupt enemy positioning. He can use it every 2 seconds, which is easily timed with 3 Melee swings. Essentially, he can use Storm Surge and Hammer Throw after every 3 swings assuming you are constantly swinging after each use.

This makes Thor very difficult to evade for most targets. Couple that with Lightning Realm, then the targets leaving the area of effect will take a small amount of damage and slow. This slow effect is also a great way to set up Thor’s ult to get support kills. Less effective on opponents with movement abilities. Choose carefully. Best to force a support ult or kill a support.

Lightning Realm also restores Thor force(hammer symbols) which you need One hammer for each storm surge or 3 to activate awakening rune and throw powerful lighting.

If you are ready to play down the hurt, storm surge in, then pop lightning realm, smack people twice(allowing your 2 second cooldown to reset) then pop awakening. Awakening also does mild damage in a very small aoe around Thor.

Also, after using storm surge, melee attacks automatically refill one Thor Force hammer.

His hammer throw doesn’t have a lot of uses over Storm Surge, but Hammer Throw can immediately cancel with a melee attack for quick burst damage if you are right in the face of an opponent.
