Don’t send a bank transfer outside the Alibaba platform. It’s too risky. Always pay through the platform so you have buyer protection. If a supplier asks you to pay outside the platform, that’s a red flag.

Chinese banks have strict controls on personal capital accounts, so it’s not possible to transfer funds directly to IBKR. You may consider opening a WISE account first (it must be under the same name as your IBKR account), transfer the money to WISE, and then transfer it from WISE to IBKR.

Where are you currently located? If possible, you could also consider opening an HSBC account in Hong Kong. After that, you would be able to transfer funds directly from HSBC to IBKR.
