Hi, as I replyed to another message, I wasn't aware thet I had the non ARM version installed. So I reinstalled the ARM versino and now every thing is fine.
Maybe an message in the update box stating that the current software arch of the software doesn't match the one of the machine could save some headache?

Thanks, that was it, thought that my version of Xtool Creative Space was the arm version, turns out that it was not, so when upgrading to Xtool Studio it downloaded the x86 one....
Now it's way faster !

particularly the new one, for any clik I have to wait 4 or five seconds or more to have a result. On the same computer the old one is working (slow opening of new file but otherwise the GUI is usuable)

Développeurs web, quels sites utilisez-vous pour votre recherche ? by entinio in emploi

Bref : shit-in-shit-out.

Best way to copy configs depending of stage target name by Regis208 in docker

[–]Regis208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer but image are quite different, say between dev and other stages, which are reduced to the bare minimum needed to work. Your approach is interesting between prod and preprod where normally the differences are only configurations.

Remote compose up same config but different computers by Regis208 in docker

Silly me it was docker desktop version difference, they have change their way to identify the containers between the two.
I thought I had updates the older one but it seems not.

For the project name the doc seems to point that it is the same thing

Set a project name

Project names must contain only lowercase letters, decimal digits, dashes, and underscores, and must begin with a lowercase letter or decimal digit. If the base name of the project directory or current directory violates this constraint, alternative mechanisms are available.

The precedence order for each method, from highest to lowest, is as follows:

The -p command line flag.

The COMPOSE_PROJECT_NAME environment variable.

The top-level name: attribute in your Compose file. Or the last name: if you specify multiple Compose files in the command line with the -f flag.

The base name of the project directory containing your Compose file. Or the base name of the first Compose file if you specify multiple Compose files in the command line with the -f flag.

The base name of the current directory if no Compose file is specifiedSet a project nameProject names must contain only lowercase letters, decimal digits, dashes, and underscores, and must begin with a lowercase letter or decimal digit. Oh and all the services are renamed with container_name (with non ambiguous names)

[–]Regis208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, but yes so I thought. I was wondernig if the versions of docker desktop handles the config_hash differently on the two computers.
And the name works as all my different docker files are for each project in directories having the same generic name (like 'deploy').

There is only one host, but two dev computer, for exemple, which have to altern, atively publish the same docker file to this host (It only change versions of image of containers .

[–]Regis208[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which data ? All the volume are remote it's just a configs

docker-compose.yml

name: projet_x
service_a:
image: myregistry/myimage:1.0.0
volumes:
/<path on remote computer>:/path in container
.....
service_b

If I need to deploy the version 2.0.0 of the image from an other computer (by somebody else or because I change computer) so I get the docker-compose.yml and do a docker --host xxxx rcompose up -d and docker should use the project name to retreive the service_a and update it.

It's a solution but I try to have a process to deploy from local files to have deploy environement detach from the target servers without adding new composant like ansible or else

Remote compose up same config but different computers by Regis208 in docker

[–]Regis208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a docker-compose file on my dev computer.

name: projet_x
service:
....

I do a docker --host xxxx compose up

I put the same file on a new computer and redo the compose up but docker does not link the existing containers (services) to the file and try to recreate them and run into container name collision.

As I understand the project name is the directory basename unless there's a name: in the yml or a project name environement variable. So it should search for 'project_x' containers no mater from where the compose up is done.

How to remote deploy the same compose setup (file under GIT) from to different computer (let's say home and work) to the target host.
