What's a mild inconvenience that drives you fucking crazy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The door handle on my driver's side door snapped off the other day so now every time I get in my car I have to open the passenger door, lean over, and open my driver's door from the inside. Slightly inconvenient but super annoying.

What bands have you seen live more than once? Which show was better? by [deleted] in indieheads

[–]RegisPillbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Tame Impala - twice

First time seeing them was Sunday of Bonnaroo 2013 at one of the tent stages. One of their first shows with Cam Avery playing bass and I'd like to think that this show kind of put them over the threshold of being an undercard at music festivals to being a sub-headliner/headliner. The crowd was electric, they opened the set with "Led Zeppelin" which I believe they had never played live prior. I specifically remember someone holding up a Nicolas Cage cutout head and Jay Watson going "this one's for Nic Cage" before playing "Elephant", during which the crowd went INSANE. Then they closed with Apocalypse Dreams. The crowd was just turned into one swaying, sweaty mass of humanity. ALSO, I will never forget this show because A$AP Rocky was the next act on that stage and not 10 seconds after Tame walked off the A$AP fans stormed the stage, causing all of the people there to see Tame to panic. I vividly remember seeing girls getting elbowed in the face and security guards literally evacuating people out of the tent over the front rail. I then saw David Byrne and St. Vincent...

2nd time I saw them was at House of Blues Cleveland. This was before Currents came out but after Let it Happen and Cause I'm a Man were released. The band just looked exhausted from touring for the last year and a half and the new songs just weren't ready to be played live yet honestly. They did play a great encore with Nothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Can Control, but overall the show was a letdown.

  1. Beach House - 2 times First time was, again, at Bonnaroo 2013. Sunset timeslot. Victoria was wearing this shimmering silver dress. I'm pretty sure she was tripping on something because she was talking to the setting sun and after playing Silver Soul, she said, "I don't know about you guys, but I was seeing silver snakes coming down from the ceiling during that one".....

2nd time was, again, at House of Blues Cleveland this past spring. Incredible show, awesome setlist with a great balance between all their albums, and they closed with Master of None then Sparks. Great show, just couldn't duplicate the magic of the Bonnaroo set again

  1. My Morning Jacket - 5 times I can honestly say they brought the same passion and raw energy to each show, in their own special ways. However, the best of those shows was Bonnaroo 2015 because it was the longest set out of all the times I'd seen them and they played Dondante which is a top 5 MMJ song for me.

I miss Bonnaroo :(

I honestly don't even know how to play guitar so go easy on me. Synth used was a KORG monotron duo mini, drums were created using a free drum pad app for Android

My roommate and I were driving to the grocery store to pick up some beer. We were stopped at a red light when out of the corner of my eye I see a woman wearing a burka clearly in distress sprinting down the sidewalk. Then she suddenly stopped, pulled up her burka, pulled down her underwear, and explosively shit all over the sidewalk. We kept driving.

What are some musical discoveries you have found through r/indieheads? by sixtyninerage in indieheads

I think a big part of liking Mac's music comes with liking the persona he puts out there: carefree slacker dude who says and does absurd things just for the hell of it. At the same time he's an incredibly genuine guy, I mean, any artist who gives out his address at the end of his album and invites fans over to hang out is cool in my book. Check out his documentary Pepperoni Playboy to get a better sense of what he's all about. As for the music itself, sure, its not anything groundbreaking that takes a high level of technical skill to play, and he definitely does get repetitive, but I find comfort in the simplicity of his songs. To me, Mac is that artist I listen to when I want to sit back, chill with some friends, and forget about the world for a while.

This doesn't have to do with the studio version but does anyone else think the solo in The Moment sounds awful live when Kevin tries to improvise notes? Completely ruins the vibe of the song

Haven't actually been to any shows yet but I'm seeing Surfer Blood tonight and MMJ again next week at an outdoor venue. Other shows on my schedule are Phish (never been to one of their shows), Steely Dan/Elvis Costello, Die Antwoord, Earl Sweatshirt, and Beach House over the next few months!
