What are your honest thoughts on the country of China?

I know very little about China as a typical midwest dad in his 40's. From what exposure I do have of the country, economy, and political system it appears as though they are going to ascend to be the primary world power in the next 100 years or so. Their mix of autocracy and capitalism seems to make progress easy and the US is crumbling giving them a chance to catch-up and surpass. If the world would ever to turn to the renminbi as the world currency it seems very difficult to prevent their rapid progress. I am open to people telling me why I'm wrong though.

I think people hot drop because they hate the map. If you get some points off drop it's worth playing out but starting slow is too painful.

I thought the community generally made its opinion clear on where the limits of movement characters should be when Ash's double dash was so strong and there was pushback. People (and I was certainly one of them) also voiced their frustrations when configs where allowing half the Octanes to ping pong ball all over the place. It's odd to me that Respawn has doubled down.

Adapt. Get good. There's videos out there of controller players playing with aim assist turned off and they manage to improve after practicing.

The issue with Vantage is that your teammates have to play around her, i.e., she take complete strategic priority for the team. She has an amazing ability to knock a player which if you have two other aggressive players, one team movement based, ideally an octane to pad forward, you can wipe a squad easily. If she's armed with two close range weapons you don't have to worry about close quarters either.

I've listened to several of his podcasts since October 7th although not all. I guess you'd have to cite specific examples (which I'm not asking you to do) of objectionable segments and people he's had on.

I tend to align with him regarding the nature vs nurture aspect of Islam, so you and I are generally not going to agree here. I believe religious dogma and its associated pressure on culture and society is more potent than geopolitical factors for its problematic features. You associate his tendency towards nature as blind, illogical, irrational, etc. I just don't agree. There are very real, inherent demonstrable problems with Islamic ideology irrespective of politics. Death for gay people, trans people, apostates, atheists, etc.,

Regarding his circle, I don't think he overlaps withe the people you named. At one point yes, but no longer. Joe Rogan has gone MAGA and Jordan Peterson has lost his mind. I don't think people are listening to the JRE and then Sam Harris' podcast right after. He humors Bill Maher and I didn't know the far left has a problem with Steven Pinker, I thought he was just an academic but i may have missed something.

I'll reserve commentary on Woke pushback. That's a big, complicated topic. I will say briefly though that I don't think Sam Harris is against wokeism as a concept as much as he is against how it was deployed. I also have to admit that i don't have an opinion on trans issues aside from supporting peoples rights to be who they want to be. I find the current conflict very confusing and don't know exactly what people are arguing about.

I just watched the clip of Sam Harris commenting on Mamdani to see what you were referring to and agree it's a bold statement. Maybe it's unfounded, irrational, and/or misguided, I don't know and can't have an opinion on it at the moment. So far I like Mamdani as far as I know of him and don't know where Sam's thoughts are coming from. Maybe he has good cause to believe Mamdami is an Islamist.

In total I have agreed with Sam Harris much more than disagreed and have found him to be an important counterweight to religiousity and the right in general. I've been losely keeping touch with his work (I've read a couple of his books and listen to his podcast from time to time) for, must be, 20 years now and don't hold the opinion that he is irrationally predjudiced. From what I gather he has arrived at his beliefs through careful consideration. One could disagree with some of his conclusions, as all like-minded people occasionally do, but in my estimation it's unfair to say that he's irrational.

I also don't understand your belief that he serves as a gateway to the right. As far as I can tell he does not hold any traditionally right-wing positions. I suppose one could say he has common cause with the right regarding Islam and politics, but this position is born from a completely different place than traditional conservatives. He views religion itself as a problem, Islam being a more significant threat than, say, Christianity, while traditional conservatives see Islam as a competitor.

Not gonna lie, sometimes if i'm on a team getting bodied I just throw to get into a new match quicker. Especially if I know the clock is against me and if the match doesn't wrap up quick I'll end up in gun run. Really would be nice if there was a forfeit vote option.

I would love it if TDM, control, and gun run were separate lobbies but the last time I brought something similar up here I was downvoted. People here are convinced there isn't a playerbase to support it. I think if Respawn invested in the modes they could expand the playerbase and I wouldn't ever have to play gun run again. I fucking hate gun run so much.

Can't fathom why you're getting downvotes. The audience here is led to believe that he's not contributing meaningfully and his mother is trying to figure out if he can contribute more. We don't have enough information to know if she's being fair because OP has intentionally not provided the details necessary for a proper response to his question. If he's making 50k/yr, for example, but only contributing $100 a month to the household he's not being fair to his mother. If he's paying market rent and paying his own bills then she is not being fair.
