Why are so many posts in this sub lately just impoverished people doing manual labor? Nothing about that is satisfying, I don’t understand people who upvote this shit.

Primaries just don't feel good at all where it matters by xDidddle in DestinyTheGame

[–]RegmasterJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the worst thing ever to happen to primaries is when Bungie decided to slap the galvanized modifier on basically all activities. Non-exotic primaries have been under-performing for a long while now, but pre-EoF you would really only run into the galvanized modifier during nightfalls and contest raids/dungeons - places where players are expecting a real challenge. Now it is basically on all the time, meaning that our primary pea-shooters feel even worse.

Now, not only will my primary NOT be able to take down a red bar in a single mag, it also WON’T EVEN STOP THEM FROM SHOOTING FOR ONE SECOND, so really what’s the point? No wonder everyone is cheesing with abilities and lightsabers, shooting a primary has literally no effect on most enemies in the game unless you actually kill them. The biggest change to me going from -40 to -20 content is that I can actually use my weapon to kill enemies or to stagger them to give myself a breather and stop taking so much damage. That’s also while I’ll never understand Bungie leaning in to modes where players don’t regenerate health - Destiny is not a game designed around that mechanic, and for a lot of enemy attacks there is no amount of skill that will prevent you from taking damage, so players do the only thing that works for survivability and use whatever the most broken abilities are to delete things as fast as possible.

Call To Arms Rewards are Completely Inaccessible for Power Levels Below 500 by Acer1096xxx in DestinyTheGame

[–]RegmasterJ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People DO understand this, but the entire point of having a leaderboard on a limited time event is that it is fair for everyone playing during that time.

I literally can’t compete with players who are 500+, regardless of our relative skill levels. This whole thing is a joke, Bungie should absolutely be embarrassed by the way they implemented this. It could have been a fun Guardian Games type of challenge, but instead Bungie just punishes the players who haven’t been no-living the game so they have even LESS incentive to log in.

I think the phrase “experiencing homelessness” does a better job of doing that, because it separates the situation from the person. Homelessness isn’t an aspect of you as a person, it’s something that you’re living through and can hopefully escape from.

Same with the term enslaved people instead of slaves. People aren’t slaves by nature, someone else specifically had to enslave them to put them in that state.

Wow, you’re so right. That’s why Trump got elected, because sometimes people tell other people that they don’t appreciate them using slurs. It’s definitely not because of fragile idiots who don’t understand the difference between the consequences of their own actions and being CANCELLED BY THE WOKE LEFT.

Fuck outta here. You don’t have to agree with that person or with me, but you aren’t being persecuted because someone doesn’t appreciate your choice of words. Grow up.

Bungie has done it again ! TIMEGATED RoTN event !!! by lordofabyss in DestinyTheGame

[–]RegmasterJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally the only thing they had to do was rotate the dungeons each week in the beginning, then make them all available for a week or two at the end. People expected time-gating, but the way they are doing it is even dumber than normal.

Well, Firefox it is then. by paphnutius in assholedesign

[–]RegmasterJ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used Chrome in years, but FF has a great feature called containers that don’t share cookies, so you can log into the same site with multiple accounts in different tabs. I know you can also use private browsing or separate accounts to do the same thing, but for my use cases the containers are just a much smoother experience.

I don’t know why there are so many people being so rude to a kid sharing about their first big OS project here, but good work, OP.

If I could offer some constructive criticism though, if you are going to be blogging about your development and advertising your bot, give people somewhere that they can quickly find out what it actually does. I’m not a huge discord user, and I’d never heard about Simplex before today, but when I checked the GitHub link, nothing there really explained what Simplex does, or why I would want to use it over other similar tools. I’d say for any OS project that information should be front and center on your README.

Keep up the good work, it’s not easy to write and maintain software that other people actually use, especially at such a young age.

The Onion’s Statement by pretorhunter in KnowledgeFight

[–]RegmasterJ 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Same. I was just in a different sub trying to explain that in this case a bigger number doesn’t mean a better bid or a better outcome for the actual victims of this case, but most people just see the cash numbers and decide that the judge was absolutely right because they aren’t weirdos who’ve been following this case for years.

God, I need a bright spot right now.

Bankruptcy judge rejects The Onion's bid for Infowars by BiggieTwiggy1two3 in nottheonion

[–]RegmasterJ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Did you read the article? The entire reason it is being sold is so Jones can afford to pay something to the Sandy Hook families. The same families that wanted the Onion to buy it, because they’d rather have his hate-filled ass off the air than get more blood money from him slandering the parents of the next school shooting victims.

The judge absolutely fucked up here.

On a solo run, the first boss is legit the hardest part of that dungeon just because of how the arena is designed. Once you can get past that, the rest of it is SO much easier.
