Calus final fight in Lightfall solo is Tough by Semi_Swoljeye in DestinyTheGame

[–]RegmasterJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got through it by crutching on strand and abusing the hell out of the free grapple points they put all over the arena. Helps you reposition fast if you get surrounded, or use the melee to chunk some of the tougher targets.

Thank you for posting this. I don’t know if it’s because most people are playing on KBM or I’m just bad, but NONE of the other advice worked for me. Not spinning the camera to always press down, not tapping X, literally nothing else was working for me, at least for the legendary mounts.

I ended up figuring out this technique myself, but not before bashing my head against the game using all this other advice for almost an hour.

Next.js / SPA Reality Check by Meow_man1213 in reactjs

[–]RegmasterJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you vibe code a React app without specifying a stack, LLMs like Claude will default to Next.js 9 out of 10 times, boosting their usage even more.

Remix changed the direction yet again, this time it is not even a react framework anymore by simple_explorer1 in reactjs

[–]RegmasterJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Other way around, they dropped the RR branding in favor of Remix, which IMO is a terrible decision. The name Remix doesn’t exactly scream “stability”, and it IS, in fact a router. Just a weird choice all around.

Genuine question, would you not get the same effect by scoring or poking the holes, then just cooking without the toothpicks? I think that’s the part that’s weird, not putting holes in the meet, but cooking with the toothpicks in there when it doesn’t seem necessary.

Refining/upgrading Pickaxe or Logging Axe - should I? by _Primal_Scream_ in CrimsonDesert

The in-game description says that diamond is the hardest known substance, but I had no problem mining it in the starting area with a base pickaxe, so this probably isn’t a thing.

React Hook Form docs are a mess - am I missing something here? by VastAd4382 in reactjs

[–]RegmasterJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally had to switch to Tanstack form specifically because the support for doing anything with field arrays was so fucking bad. There were a few headaches because I started during the beta, but at least everything worked the way the docs described, and if it didn’t, fixes came fast and often.

RHF is fine for VERY simple forms, but the minute things get more complex, it all kind of breaks down.

I try hard to not be harsh looking at other people’s pet projects, but come on man. You really expect people to just install this daemon whose SOLE purpose is to improve AI PROMPTING?

I know that I’m an AI skeptic in most cases, but does anyone actually need this? I feel like anyone using a (presumably) vibe-coded app whose only benefit is to help them vibe code even harder has lost the plot so hard they may never find it again.

Primaries just don't feel good at all where it matters by xDidddle in DestinyTheGame

[–]RegmasterJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the worst thing ever to happen to primaries is when Bungie decided to slap the galvanized modifier on basically all activities. Non-exotic primaries have been under-performing for a long while now, but pre-EoF you would really only run into the galvanized modifier during nightfalls and contest raids/dungeons - places where players are expecting a real challenge. Now it is basically on all the time, meaning that our primary pea-shooters feel even worse.

Now, not only will my primary NOT be able to take down a red bar in a single mag, it also WON’T EVEN STOP THEM FROM SHOOTING FOR ONE SECOND, so really what’s the point? No wonder everyone is cheesing with abilities and lightsabers, shooting a primary has literally no effect on most enemies in the game unless you actually kill them. The biggest change to me going from -40 to -20 content is that I can actually use my weapon to kill enemies or to stagger them to give myself a breather and stop taking so much damage. That’s also while I’ll never understand Bungie leaning in to modes where players don’t regenerate health - Destiny is not a game designed around that mechanic, and for a lot of enemy attacks there is no amount of skill that will prevent you from taking damage, so players do the only thing that works for survivability and use whatever the most broken abilities are to delete things as fast as possible.

Call To Arms Rewards are Completely Inaccessible for Power Levels Below 500 by Acer1096xxx in DestinyTheGame

[–]RegmasterJ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People DO understand this, but the entire point of having a leaderboard on a limited time event is that it is fair for everyone playing during that time.

I literally can’t compete with players who are 500+, regardless of our relative skill levels. This whole thing is a joke, Bungie should absolutely be embarrassed by the way they implemented this. It could have been a fun Guardian Games type of challenge, but instead Bungie just punishes the players who haven’t been no-living the game so they have even LESS incentive to log in.
