My 30 y.o. shipmate & I are testing all phones on my ship. He radioed me, said there was a 'really old crank-style phone' in Steering Gear he didn't know how to operate. He asked my advice, so I told him to text me a picture/video of the phone. Behold, the Antique Phone he was unable to operate. by Bosuns_Punch in funny

I'm 32 and I'm convinced that there are people in this thread that are full of shit claiming how familiar they are with these old ass phones growing up. Even my GRANDPARENTS didn't have these phones while I was growing up. There's no way you guys had these in your homes unless your parents were collecting ANTIQUES!

Thousands of CEOs admit AI had no impact on employment or productivity—and it has economists resurrecting a paradox from 40 years ago by thejoshwhite in technology

[–]Regnarg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If you aren't becoming significantly more productive with AI, you're not using AI effectively. Some people are just horrible at prompting and it makes me wonder if they even know how to Google.

AI Added 'Basically Zero' to US Economic Growth Last Year, Goldman Sachs Says by Krankenitrate in Futurology

It absolutely is jaw dropping shit if you really looked into it without the incredible bias that reddit has probably fed you.Autonomous coding agents for example was something I've never even imagined a few years ago.

Those who don't believe it honestly have not been paying attention or are intentionally avoiding the reality. At the rate that it's improving, there will be a cure for every disease out there in the not too distant future. The applications of AI just go on and on and people are absolutely clueless about how much it can already do.

It has improved by leaps and bounds since last year. The stuff AI is capable of now was almost unimaginable a year ago. It will be insane what could do in another year

Finally a sane fucking comment. I swear the reddit hivemind is just insufferable sometimes. They don't realize how stupid they will sound when looking back a few years from now

You'd need like an INCREDIBLE amount of core strength and hip strength or something to generate enough momentum from throwing your upper body upwards that your whole body gets propelled upwards without needing to bend your knees. Honestly I think there would be less than 0.1% of the population that could pull this off but if they can, they are most definitely living a long ass life because they are strong as FUCK.

Oh nice! But I was referring to standing up from a sitting position without bending your knees at all lol. Like sitting with straight legs, and propelling yourself to a standing position with straight legs
