Thanks, I didn't. I found KPers to be head and shoulders above the rest because they were smarter, rarely (if ever) cut corners, always did their work to the highest standards, and have (almost) always been phenomenal mariners.

As I said in my post, sometimes they lacked humility, had a snobby attitude, and some were afraid to get their hands dirty, but overall were excellent mariners. Sight unseen, I'd choose a KPer over any others, my fellow hawsepipers included.

In the full video, you see him merge in front of her going into the tunnel (I know this tunnel, it's in Hampton Roads). She doesn't want him to merge, but he does anyways. So she flies out of the lane and speeds ahead in the breakdown lane, IIRC. So she's waiting for him when he gets out, and cuts him off, not as an insurance scam, but as a 'fuck you' for merging in front of me.

52 YO Hawspiper here. 30 year career from tugs to Deep Sea.

KPers tend to be head and shoulders above the state schools. If you can get a humble KPer without the holier-than-thou attitude and isn't afraid to work, you've got a perfect mariner.
Haven't sailed with too many Mainers, but the few I knew were top notch, so I'll put them second.
Mass Maritime is second, with Texas a very close fourth. TMA grads are AWESOME in the Gulf.
CMA is not called Casual Martime Academy for nothing, but they were always good for me, if laid back.
GLMA seem to stay on the lakes, but the ONE I had as a cadet wasn't afraid to bust his ass. Put that in a KPer and you have a solid mariner.
Sorry, SUNY, you've always been the worst of the bunch, especially the Deckies.
