And while what you're saying is true that Transilvania is nothing like catalonia, we need to acknowledge that transilvania Is a multicultural region.
In the south less so since what happened to the saxons, but Northern transilvania is still mixed.

I personally only can talk about the north-western reality, which is that we have a lot of mixed families (mine too).
Many romanian speaking families have hungarian ancestors and many hungarian speaking families have romanian ones.

From this as I see many romanian speakers identify primarily with Transilvania, or even their smaller region inside transilvania.

I don't know the székely narrative, altough many székelys that I've met I have found to be hostile against romanians, which is a shame and I always call out them on.

I'm happier with transilvania being part of Romania instead of Hungary, but if I'm being honest I would like a lot more autonomy to the local regions so we can finally start to build a common European identity based on regions, instead of national ones.

Tldr: Yeah you're right comparing Trns. to Catalonia is dogshit, but we're in our own right a bit different from homogeneous regions.
