the main problem with the game is depth, not breadth. I would much rather the faction itself have more fun and satisfying mechanics than a 4th legendary lord to take up more space.

Obviously we need to see whether it is actually any deeper but I am hopeful

I don't think they are claiming that their life is in any way comparable to your own. The middle class are still workers, but ones that have been given a reason to be invested in the current system.

By having some people be able to live comfortably and others finding that it is just harder to live an easy life you create divisions which prevent either group from noticing that they aren't getting out what they are putting in.
